We owe so much to the Sierra Madre mountain ranges in Nueva Vizcaya—our natural shield that protects us from typhoons and floods. Beyond its beauty, the Sierra Madre supports our rich biodiversity, providing a home for countless plant and animal species

The Sierra Madre lies along the eastern coast of Luzon, facing the Pacific Ocean, where most typhoons originate — and when a typhoon hits, the mountain range blocks and slows down the strong winds, reducing their speed and intensity before they reach inland areas like Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and Cagayan Valley. This “shield effect” lessens the damage to lives, crops, and infrastructure

Ito ay sumisimbolo ng pag-asa ng mga kabataang Montalbeño na kahit sa hirap ng buhay, nananatili ang pag-asa. Ito ay nagpapakita ng pag-asa ng mga kabataan para sa magandang kinabukasan. Naniniwala kami na ang kabataan ang makakatulong sa pag-unlad ng ating bayan. Kami, mga kabataang Montalbeño, ang magpapatunay na ang pagkakaisa, pagtutulungan, at may isang pangarap sa buhay ay makakapagbigay ng magandang pagbabago.

This parol has a story behind it; every part of the parol is made from recycled materials, which the YES-O officers had a hard time finding through teamwork and hard work. Lately, different parts of the Philippines have been experiencing earthquakes. That’s why it’s super important to always be ready and aware! 🧠🎗

To prepare for an earthquake in the Philippines, families should secure their homes by anchoring furniture, create a disaster plan including a family meeting spot, and assemble a go-bag with essentials like water, food, and a first-aid kit. They should also participate in drills to practice "𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗽, 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱" and know how to shut off utilities. After an earthquake, prioritize safety by checking for injuries and aftershocks, avoiding damaged buildings and elevators, and listening for official updates from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS)
