A proud and meaningful recognition for the Rotary Club of San Mateo Highlands! 💙💛

During the 1st Good Presidents League Assembly held on August 16, 2026, in Malabon City, our club was honored as one of the recipients of the prestigious 2025–26 Club Excellence Award, conferred by Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo and The Rotary Foundation Chair Holger Knaack.

The award recognizes the Rotary Club of San Mateo Highlands for fostering a positive experience for its members and reflecting the values of Rotary—a testament to the Highlanders’ commitment to fellowship, service, leadership, and making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

COMFORT IN ACTION: A ROTARY RELIEF INITIATIVE

SAN MATEO, RIZAL — August 10, 2026. In times of hardship, even the simplest acts of kindness can bring comfort, dignity, and hope.

The Rotary Club of San Mateo Highlands (RCSMH) brought its commitment to service to Brgy. Sta. Ana, San Mateo, Rizal, through “Comfort in Action: A Rotary Relief Initiative,” extending much-needed assistance to 464 families affected by the recent flooding.

The relief operation provided 500 sets of mats and blankets courtesy of Rotary Club Makati, 368 Gardenia loaf bread, and 360 bottles of drinking water. These are essential items intended to offer immediate comfort to families as they begin to recover and rebuild.

RCSMH, represented by our High Impact President Em Amurao, PP Jojo Gamboa, and VIP Denia Pinning, is deeply grateful for the meaningful partnership and support of the Rotary Club of Makati led by their High Impact President Chris Ferareza and Ron Dotaro, Philippine Red Cross – Rizal Chapter, and Gardenia Bakeries (Philippines), Inc. Their generosity and collaboration helped turn this initiative into concrete action for the community.

We are also sincerely grateful to the Barangay Captain of Sta. Ana, Hon. Robert Antigua, and the entire barangay leadership for warmly welcoming the relief team, facilitating the operation, and helping ensure that assistance reached the families who needed it most.

HOPE IN ACTION: A ROTARY RELIEF OPERATION

QUEZON CITY — August 10, 2026. In the face of adversity, hope becomes most powerful when transformed into action.

The Rotary Club of San Mateo Highlands brought its spirit of service closer to communities affected by flooding in Brgy. Bagong Silangan, Quezon City, through “Hope in Action: A Rotary Relief Operation.”

The initiative focused on providing immediate assistance through the distribution of hot meals, drinking water, and essential relief goods to approximately 300 families affected by the recent flooding.

More than the relief items, the operation carried a message of compassion: no one has to face difficult times alone.

The initiative was made possible through the support and partnership of Independent Transport Network Vehicle Group, Inc. (INDI) and the Yabut Foundation, together with generous donors and dedicated volunteers who came together to serve together with our High Impact President Em Amurao, PP Jojo, VIP Denia, PE Eugine and his spouse Ma’am Genny, Rtn. Tristan Nash Yabut, Rtn. Jenalyn Herrera and from our Rotaract Club of San Mateo Highlands, Rotaractor Mikkai.

As Rotary continues to live out its commitment to Create Lasting Impact, this relief operation reminds us that meaningful change begins when communities unite with a purpose to help, to care, and to serve.

Membership Month in Action: RCSMH Welcomes a New Member and Deepens Rotary Learning

The Rotary Club of San Mateo Highlands, together with the Rotaract Club of San Mateo Highlands, successfully held its Third Regular Meeting and Charging and Induction of a New Member on August 2, 2026, at NoMom Kitchen, Silangan San Mateo, Rizal.

Guided by this Rotary year’s theme, “Create Lasting Impact,” the meeting reaffirmed the club’s commitment to making every regular meeting an opportunity for learning, fellowship, and meaningful engagement.

The featured learning session focused on Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus, providing members, especially the club’s newest Rotarians, with a deeper understanding of the priorities that guide Rotary’s humanitarian efforts around the world. Members also shared their personal experiences in implementing various service projects, offering practical insights and inspiring stories that highlighted the impact of service in their communities.

The discussion also explored what makes Rotary unique among organizations with similar causes. Members reflected on Rotary’s distinctive approach of combining community service with leadership development, fellowship, ethical standards through The Four-Way Test, and a global network of volunteers working together to create sustainable and long-term solutions to community needs. These conversations helped new members better appreciate the values and purpose that set Rotary apart.

A meaningful highlight of the gathering was the Charging and Induction of a New Member, held in celebration of Membership Month. Aligned with this month’s Rotary focus, the ceremony underscored the importance of growing Rotary by welcoming individuals who are committed to Service Above Self, strengthening fellowship, and expanding the club’s capacity to create lasting impact in the community.

Through continuous learning, shared experiences, and collaborative action, the Rotary Club of San Mateo Highlands remains dedicated to developing leaders, strengthening communities, and creating lasting impact.
