“Dako ini nga bulig kay kulang pa iton gamit han akon anak. Diri na ini paraliton ha tindahan.”

This was how one mother described the impact of the support received by more than 130 learners of Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Quinapondan District and Day Care pupils on the early Monday morning of June 15, 2026.

Soon after the flag raising ceremony, the team joined the school community in distributing learning kits and uniforms, meeting learners at the start of their school day. Day Care pupils also received their materials during their first day of play school, marking an early moment of support for the youngest learners.

“Dinhi la ini ha aton barangay nga mayda nanhahatag pati school uniform, salit dako gud ini nga bulig,” another mother shared, highlighting how uncommon and meaningful the support is for families in the community.

Each learner received essential school materials and complete uniforms—helping ease the basic requirements of school preparation for households managing limited resources.

The School Readiness Project continues through the support of the Waray Empowerment Network, in collaboration with Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Quinapondan District, as part of a shared effort to strengthen access to education at the community level.

What stood out on the ground was not the distribution itself, but the immediate relief it brought to families as the school year begins.💙

Building a Green and Just Future Starts with Supporting Children Today 🌱📚

A greener, more resilient, and more just future is not built by policies and technologies alone. It is also built by investing in people—especially children—and ensuring they have the support they need to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.

This June 15, 2026, Balud will once again return to Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Quinapondan District to implement the School Readiness Project, providing supplementary school supplies and support to kindergarten and elementary learners as they begin a new school year.

Now on its second year, the project continues through the generous support of Waray Empowerment Network and the continued partnership of Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Quinapondan District. Together, we share a simple belief: supporting children's education today helps create stronger communities and a better tomorrow.

We are excited to meet the learners, teachers, and families once again and to kick off another school year with hope, encouragement, and community support.

Stay tuned over the coming days as we share more about the project, the preparations underway, and the impact we hope to create together.

Balud is grateful to be part of yet another meaningful collaboration for our Waray youth.

In partnership with the Waray Empowerment Network and Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Quinapondan District, we recently concluded the School Readiness Project—a small but significant step in supporting children as they begin a new school year.

Through this initiative, 130 elementary pupils (from Kindergarten to Grade 6) received a full set of school uniforms and basic school supplies. These were distributed to children from low-income families, identified through recommendations by the school and school's GPTA.

This simple intervention aims to reduce financial pressure on families, help students show up with dignity and excitement, and build a more supportive learning environment from Day One.

As classes officially open, we hope this project helps spark confidence, joy, and a renewed sense of hope among the children. Let’s continue supporting the building blocks of a brighter future for our young Waraynons. 🌱💙

🎒✨ SCHOOL READINESS STARTS HERE!

We’re excited to launch the School Readiness Project in Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Quinapondan, Eastern Samar!

In partnership with the school and the ever-reliable Waray Empowerment Network, we’re providing basic school supplies to elementary pupils—because every child deserves to start school prepared and confident.

📅 The distribution will happen during Brigada Eskwela—so we’re inviting everyone to come, help, and be part of this meaningful event!
