Onto the province for the second day! For the first time, the Rotaract Club of Tiaong Transforming New Gen joined the Rotaract Philippine Roundtrip as one of its host clubs. On March 8, 2025, the six Roundtrippers from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, and Germany were warmly welcomed to Quezon Province as they experienced the rustic charm of rural Philippines at Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort.
Accompanied by MP Allia Rodriguez, IPP Allen Alimagno, PE Jan Nicole Perez and Rotaractors from the Rotaract Club of San Pedro East, the day started with a tour of one of the largest private museums in the country, where they explored centuries of Filipino history, culture, and heritage. Along the way, they met Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Papenburg, Germany, adding a global touch to their local experience.
The highlight of the day was a scenic carabao cart ride through the lush plantation while being serenaded with Filipino songs. The journey led them to the Labasin Waterfalls Restaurant, where they dined with their feet in cool, flowing water beneath a man-made waterfall, savoring a delicious Filipino feast complete with fresh buko juice. 🍽️
The afternoon was filled with vibrant Filipino traditions. The RoundTrippers enjoyed the Philippine Experience Show that showcased the rich history of Filipino music, cultural dances, and a unique look into cockfighting. During the cockfighting demonstration, the Roundtrippers had the chance to experience what it's like to be part of this local tradition by placing their bets on their chosen chicken. After the show, the Roundtrippers had the opportunity to meet a Rotarian from Australia.
They then paddled on bamboo rafts along the tranquil Bulakin River, before finishing the day tour with a refreshing swim and whirlpool bath to cool off. 🛶💦
It was a day to remember, filled with adventure, culture, and the rustic charm of rural Quezon. 🌾
