Official youth arm organization of Philippine Chamber Of Commerce and Industry. 🇵🇭 The Philippine Young Entrepreneurs Association (PYEA) is a national association for young entrepreneurs with the mission to engage and connect young entrepreneurs across the Philippines to prepare them to deepen and sustain the integration process of the ASEAN Economic Community through active participation in ASEA
N regional activities. PYEA is a founding member organization representing the Philippines on the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council (AYEC) as endorsed by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council - Philippines (ASEAN-BAC PH) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). PYEA can trace its roots to the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) with its founding members being part of the PCCI Youth Affairs Committee, having participated in local and international activities aimed at young entrepreneurs such as the ASEAN-China Young Entrepreneurs Forum (ACYEF) which is hosted by an ASEAN member state annually. PYEA members actively participated in the following ACYEF events: 2011 in Jakarta and Vietnam, 2013 in Brunei Darussalam, 2014 in Myanmar, 2015 in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. In 2016, the ACYEF was transformed into the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Carnival (AYE Carnival) under the auspices of the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council, and its first iteration was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2017, PYEA hosted the 2nd ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Carnival in Manila, Philippines, wherein the AYE Carnival was made part of the official ASEAN program of events during the Philippine Chairmanship of ASEAN for that year. It was also during the Philippine Chairmanship that the Manila Declaration was made by the AYEC, launching the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Association (AYEA) which will become the regional platform for young entrepreneurs across the ASEAN Member States. In 2018, PYEA partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry to develop and implement the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP). YEP aims to inspire Filipino youth to become entrepreneurs, provide them with knowledge to make them capable and competitive, and connect them with like minded entrepreneurs across the country. PYEA believes that entrepreneurship is not only a skill, but a lifestyle. It is a balance of the 3 growth areas that makes an entrepreneur successful: Personal, Business and Social Growth. Entrepreneurship requires a variety of skills that need to be developed. Personal growth means maintaining mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellness are important since this will ensure stability in one’s enterprise and the stakeholders involved. Business growth entails learning best practices and sharing experiences among peers from different industries, regions and stages of their entrepreneurial journey which inspires one another to grow their businesses and profits. Meanwhile, it is important to note that our entrepreneurs are able to take the challenges faced by themselves as business owners and translate this into policy recommendations to national leaders in order to allow MSMEs to thrive, create employment opportunities and provide quality products and services that will benefit Society’s growth, paving the way for future generations. Through PYEA, Filipino young entrepreneurs are able to empower themselves and connect with peers from all over the Philippines and from around the world, giving them the resources to make connections, grow their business, and contribute to the betterment of society.
