KAYA 2026 | Kabataan Amplifying Youth Advocacy
Young leaders, volunteers, and advocates from across Quezon City gathered at the QC M.I.C.E. Center on June 21, 2026 for the Kabataang QC Volunteers (KQCV) Summit 2026: KAYA – Kabataan Amplifying Youth Advocacy. Organized by the Quezon City Youth Development Office (QCYDO), the summit served as a platform to empower the youth through volunteerism, leadership, and active civic participation.
The event officially opened with an audiovisual prayer, the Philippine National Anthem, and inspiring opening remarks from Ms. Krisabeth Clea C. Desalisa, emphasizing how compassion can be transformed into meaningful action that creates real impact in communities.
One of the highlights of the summit was the panel discussion, “Balik-Tanaw: How Volunteerism Has Shaped Us,” moderated by Mr. Gabriel S. Tugbo, together with youth volunteer leaders who shared their personal experiences, challenges, and valuable lessons gained through community service and volunteer work.
Participants also took part in interactive discussions centered on the Ten Centers of Youth Participation: Education, Environment, Social Inclusion and Equity, Peace Building and Security, Active Citizenship, Global Mobility, Health, Agriculture, Economic Empowerment, and Governance — encouraging young people to identify pressing community concerns and create meaningful, sustainable solutions.
The program concluded with insightful sessions from Ms. El Joy Beneza, Mr. Lee Troy Calimlim, and Mr. JM Larona, focusing on advocacy development, responsible digital citizenship, and the important role of volunteers in community-building.
Representing KAKASA Youth Organization, this experience strengthened our commitment to youth empowerment, volunteerism, and active citizenship. More than just a summit, KAYA 2026 served as a powerful reminder that young people have the ability to lead, inspire, and create lasting change within their communities.
