"On Saturday, 27 June 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Filipino students worked under strict international testing conditions, with no breaks and with independent onsite invigilators present throughout the competition. The final verified standings were released by the APOAI International Scientific Committee after a full score audit.

"To ensure fairness across all participating countries and regions, all official contest sites were monitored simultaneously through live Zoom streams coordinated by the IOAI China Organizing Committee. Contestants also used the same high-performance AI GPU cloud environment, giving all students access to equal computing resources regardless of location."

We are incredibly proud to announce the historic performance of our national delegation at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (APOAI)! Competing against 129 elite secondary school students from 18 countries and territories across the region, the 8-person Philippine team showcased world-class technical talent, securing a Tie for 6th Place Overall in the final country standings!

Here is how our eight national delegates placed after a rigorous round of objective automated and audited assessments:

🥇 Noe Nathan Y. Arreza (Philippine Science High School - CALABARZON Campus) — Rank 8, GOLD
🥈 Troy Dylan T. Serapio (Philippine Science High School - Main Campus) — Rank 23, SILVER
🥉 Daphne Eunice U. Acena (De La Salle University Dasmariñas High School) — Rank 42, BRONZE
🥉 Jhareign S. Solidum (University of Mindanao Ilang High School) — Rank 52, BRONZE
⭐ Ryan James L. Alfaro (Philippine Science High School - CALABARZON Campus) — Rank 88, Honourable Mention
⭐ Sean Marcus N. Castillo (Philippine Science High School - Central Luzon Campus) — Rank 95, Honourable Mention
🇵🇭 Ellison Matthew S. Ang (Philippine Science High School - Main Campus) — National Delegate
🇵🇭 Aretha Cai Faustine M. Sy (St. Scholastica's Academy of Marikina) — Rank 114, National Delegate

With 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze, the Philippines secured its position at 6th out of 18 overall in the very first APOAI.

Congratulations to all eight delegates. This result belongs to far more than the students who sat the exam — to the coaches and mentors who trained this team, the invigilators and local staff who kept everything running with integrity on competition day, the schools and communities who believed in these students long before they ever competed, and the parents who trusted us with your children and cheered them on every step of the way: thank you. This is your success too.

None of this would be possible without APOAI itself — our thanks to the IOAI China Organizing Committee for hosting, the APOAI Board for organizing, and to APOAI's global sponsors, Taobao 淘宝 (Alibaba Group), Jane Street, and DP Technology, for making this Olympiad possible. We're equally grateful to our own local partners, Joy-Nostalg, Times Paint Corporation, and the Tiu Family, and to our hosts at the Ateneo Business Insights Laboratory for Development - BUILD, John Gokongwei School of Management, Ateneo de Manila University for backing Team Philippines' debut. 🇵🇭🚀
