🌟 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔, 𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗠, 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢! 🌟

On December 2-3, 2025, we successfully wrapped up our 2-day multi-sectoral conference, "𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺, 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀" at PROXY by The Oriental Albay in Legazpi, Albay!

In celebration of 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, we gathered 𝟭𝟭𝟰 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧—including 𝐋𝐆𝐔𝐬, 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 and 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬.

Together, we explored:
💡 Integrating mental health into local disaster planning.
💡 Amplifying the voices of persons with disabilities, the elderly, and the youth.
💡 How inclusive care and Filipino values like 𝘒𝘢𝘱𝘸𝘢 (𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘺) and 𝘗𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺 (𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨) strengthen our communities and build resilience in time of crisis.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners who made this vision possible: 𝗖𝗕𝗠 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 - CBM Australia and 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗢). ❤️💙

Our resilience is measured not just by how we rebuild, but by how we care for one another. To our speakers, volunteers, and participants: thank you for committing to a future where no one is left behind in times of crisis. ✊

Day 1 opened with an orientation that brought together diverse sectors—𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐎𝐏𝐃𝐬), 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐬 (𝐋𝐆𝐔𝐬), and 𝐜𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬—from across the country.

In the following days, the summit highlighted global commitments to advancing the rights of persons with disabilities through welcoming messages from diplomats, 𝗠𝗿. We also heard from legislative champions such as 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗗𝗲𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲, 𝗝.𝗗. (House Special Committee on Persons with Disabilities) and 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗟𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗮 (MPL Partylist), who discussed ongoing legislative efforts to strengthen protection, participation, and opportunities for persons with disabilities.

Throughout the summit, persons with disabilities shared powerful testimonies on exclusion, inclusion, and their hopes for a more accessible society. OPDs and LGUs likewise presented successful initiatives that showcased what inclusive development can look like in practice.

These insights collectively affirmed the summit’s core objective: 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬. 🌈♿

💜 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 💜

In 𝗭𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮, medicine isn't just found in a bottle—it is also found in a simple greeting: "𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐤𝐚?" (𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮?) 💭

For years, people with mental health conditions lived in silence and misunderstanding. But nurses like 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗼, with the support of 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗕𝗞𝗖), began bringing compassionate care straight to people’s homes—meeting them where support is needed most.

This approach changed everything for 𝗝𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗻, who withdrew from the world after his diagnosis. Through sustained support, he realized he was not alone and slowly found his way back into community life. 🌱❤️‍🩹

This is the story of a community that learned to 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧, 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲.

For today's spotlight in our "𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲" series, we share two stories that remind us that 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧—whether on the frontlines of a crisis or within the four corners of a classroom.

From 𝗝𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗻, meet 𝗔𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗲 and 𝗟𝗲𝗿𝘆, who are committed to helping their community through 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧—𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. ❤️‍🩹🍃
