From places of work to places of care, partners are bringing cervical cancer screening and prevention services closer to women through accessible, workplace-based initiatives.

In line with National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, the DOH, Taguig CHO, UP Diliman Gender Office, Women Workers for Health Empowerment Network, DOLE Bureau of Working Conditions, and Jhpiego continue strengthening access to HPV DNA screening and treatment through the Clams 2 Project — a hub-and-spoke initiative helping scale up cervical cancer prevention services across the Philippines.

Cervical cancer is preventable, yet in the Philippines, 12 women still lose their lives to it every day.

In this video, Donna Miranda, Project Officer of the Women’s Cancers portfolio at Jhpiego Philippines, shares how the Centralized Laboratory Model for HPV DNA Screening (CLAMS) is transforming the way we deliver cervical cancer services, proving that partnerships, innovation, and community-based approaches can bridge gaps in access and save lives.

From self-sampling to centralized testing and decentralized treatment, CLAMS shows that eliminating cervical cancer is not just possible. It is within reach when public and private sectors work together.

Because health is a right, and it takes all of us to make it accessible for every woman.

NurturePH forum calls for stronger alignment to advance maternal and newborn health in the UHC era

In celebration of National Women’s Month, leaders and partners across the health sector convened on March 26, 2026 for NurturePH: A National Dialogue on Maternal and Newborn Health in the UHC Era, co‑organized by the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, Unilab Foundation, and Jhpiego.

As the Philippines moves toward full implementation of Universal Health Care, speakers emphasized the need for stronger alignment in policy, financing, and service delivery to ensure timely, high‑quality, and equitable care for all women and newborns.

The forum gathered over 100 stakeholders from professional societies, development partners, national agencies, local government units, and health facilities to discuss DOH and PhilHealth policy directions and program priorities, while sharing good practices and ongoing initiatives from across the country.

Protecting adolescent girls through HPV vaccination is not simply a medical intervention; it is an investment in women’s health across the life course.

When a young girl receives the HPV vaccine today, she carries with her protection that may prevent a life-threatening disease decades later.

Perhaps, this is the quiet power of evidence: when research, policy and community action move together, they help secure a healthier future for the next generation of women.
