Yesterday, during the prestigious Duyan Ka ng Magiting Awards 2026 held in celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day, the Youth for Agriculture and Sustainability (YAS) proudly witnessed two of its remarkable leaders receive national recognition for their dedication and service.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Mikhaela Vianca P. Beliber, YAS President, for being recognized as a Natatanging Pilipina sa Larangan ng Pamumuno ng Kabataan at Adbokasyong Agrikultural, and to Dr. Romel O. Sevilla, YAS Adviser, for being honored as a Natatanging Pilipino sa Larangan ng Edukasyon.

These awards reflect their unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, agricultural advocacy, education, and nation-building. Their leadership continues to inspire YAS members to serve with integrity, excellence, and genuine love for the Filipino people.

🌱✨YOUTH AGRI-SOCIETY (YAS) ✨🌱

The Youth Agri-Society (YAS) actively participated in RePorma: Office Wear Edition, organized by the Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD) in collaboration with the Quezon City Youth Development Office (QCYDO). Held on June 8–9, 2026 at the QC Hall Highrise Building, the initiative aimed to support graduating students and young professionals through the distribution of free pre‑loved office attire while promoting awareness on sustainable consumption and textile waste reduction. 🌱✨

The activity encouraged participants to practice clothing reuse and environmental responsibility, highlighting how community initiatives can help reduce waste and promote more sustainable lifestyles. It also emphasized the importance of supporting aspiring professionals while advocating for conscious and responsible consumption. 👕🌍

YAS remains committed to supporting programs that promote youth empowerment, sustainability, environmental awareness, and community engagement. 🤝🌿

Biodiversity Enhancement Regenerative Agriculture EnterpriSe

Today’s webinar successfully brought together our Youth Agri-Society members, students, faculty, researchers, community partners, urban farms, and farmers for a meaningful discussion on advancing biodiversity enhancement and regenerative agriculture.

We were honored to learn from Dr. Manny Manuel Reyes, a distinguished agricultural engineer, researcher, educator, and Balik Scientist Awardee, whose expertise in sustainable agriculture and agroecological engineering inspired us to deepen our commitment to protecting and restoring our soil, water, air, and biodiversity.

With the strong support of Dr. Isagani M. Tano, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the guidance of Dr. Romel Sevilla, Head of CUAI and Adviser of the Youth Agri-Society, together with Ms. Justine Sanchez and the organizing team, this webinar became a powerful platform for learning, collaboration, and environmental action.

Together, we continue to move toward a more sustainable, climate-resilient, and biodiversity-friendly future. 🌍

🌞🍧 BEAT THE HEAT: HALO-HALO SA TAG-INIT 🍧🌞

Bilang Pangulo ng Youth Agri-Society (YAS), nakilahok si Mikhaela Vianca P. Beliber sa Beat the Heat: Halo-Halo sa Tag-init, isang youth engagement initiative na pinangunahan ng Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD) katuwang ang Quezon City Youth Development Office (QCYDO), na ginanap noong Hunyo 5, 2026 sa QCX Business Center, Quezon City Memorial Circle.

Sa pamamagitan ng mga talakayan tungkol sa heat safety, climate resilience, at digital advocacy, nabigyang-kaalaman ang mga kabataan sa mga praktikal na hakbang upang maging mas handa sa epekto ng matinding init at pagbabago ng klima. Naging oportunidad din ito upang mapaunlad ang kakayahan ng kabataan sa pagsusulong ng kamalayang pangkalikasan sa kanilang mga komunidad.

Patuloy na nakikiisa ang YAS sa mga programang nagtataguyod ng pangangalaga sa kalikasan, kamalayan sa klima, at aktibong partisipasyon ng kabataan tungo sa isang mas ligtas at mas napapanatiling kinabukasan.

🌟 RISA MOVEMENT MULTI-SECTORAL LAUNCH 🌟

Nakibahagi ang Youth Agri-Society (YAS) sa RISA Movement Multi-Sectoral Launch na ginanap noong Hunyo 5, 2026 sa UP Bahay ng Alumni.

Ang nasabing pagtitipon ay nagsilbing pagkakataon upang magkaisa ang iba't ibang sektor ng lipunan para sa pagsusulong ng makabuluhang adbokasiya, aktibong pakikilahok ng mamamayan, at pagpapalakas ng boses ng kabataan sa mga usaping panlipunan at pangkomunidad.

🔥 FIRE READY: READY, SET, SUPPRESS 🔥

Patuloy na nakikibahagi ang Youth Agri-Society (YAS) sa mga programang naglalayong palakasin ang kaalaman at kahandaan ng mga kabataan sa usapin ng kaligtasan at pagtugon sa sakuna.

Noong Hunyo 5, 2026, dumalo ang mga kinatawan ng YAS sa FIRE READY: Ready, Set, Suppress, isang seminar na nakatuon sa fire safety awareness, emergency preparedness, at tamang pamamaraan sa pagresponde sa mga insidente ng sunog.

🌱📚 YOUTH AGRI-SOCIETY PARTICIPATES IN THE LEaP Programme – Sakto Skills Serye National Rollout

Patuloy na nakikibahagi ang Youth Agri-Society (YAS) sa mga programang naglalayong palakasin ang kakayahan at kaalaman ng kabataan. Noong Mayo 30, 2026, matagumpay na dumalo ang ating mga kinatawan sa LEaP Programme – Sakto Skills Serye National Rollout na pinangunahan ng National Youth Commission, katuwang ang UNICEF Philippines at Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center ng Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

Sa pamamagitan ng mga learning tracks tulad ng Saktong Leader, Saktong Communicator, Saktong Resilient, Saktong Learner, Saktong Professional, at Saktong Critical Thinker, nabigyan ang mga kalahok ng mahahalagang kaalaman at kasanayan para sa kanilang personal, akademiko, at propesyonal na pag-unlad.
