The Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers (PSAE) was founded in 1950 to advance the theory and practice of agricultural engineering. PSAE is a non-profitable professional organization duly registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission in accordance with the Corporation Code of the Philippines (Batas Pambansa Blg. 68), approved on May 1, 1980.

As the National Organization of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers under Republic Act No. 10915 (the Philippine Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Act), the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝐏𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐄) proudly participated in the 4th Anniversary Commemoration of the signing and approval of its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR). Alongside this milestone, PSABE took an active role in the National Stakeholders’ Consultation on the ABE Professional Practice Standards (PPS).

The event was strongly attended by PSABE officers and leaders, including 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐌. 𝐓𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 (PSABE Vice President), 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐥 𝐆. 𝐓𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐨 (PSABE Secretary), 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐨 (PSABE Auditor / BAFE Director), and 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐮𝐳-𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐨 (PSABE YES President), alongside esteemed PSABE Advisers 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐬 (of the Standards Regulation and Enforcement Division - SRED) and 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐨 (Retired BAFE Director), together with officials from the Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (𝐁𝐀𝐅𝐄) and the Professional Regulatory Board of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (𝐏𝐑𝐁𝐀𝐁𝐄).

QUEZON CITY — The Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE), represented by its National President, Engr. Peachie B. Melendez, actively participated in the Philippine Technological Council (PTC) Regular Board Meeting held on September 22, 2026.

The meeting gathered executive officers, board of trustees, and representatives of the engineering professional organizations under the PTC, hosted by the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP), to review major operational areas and advance the engineering profession in the country.

Among the major matters discussed were educational accords and accreditation of engineering education, competence agreements and registers of engineering professionals, as well as STEM, codes and standards innovation and development. Updates on international and local partnerships and linkages, boards, commissions, committees, work groups, special divisions, and new programs and projects for 2026 were also presented.

The Board likewise reviewed administrative, organizational development, and related matters, alongside pertinent legislative updates and other key agenda items under the PTC operations.

On September 18–19, 2026 via Zoom, the two-day Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training on "Seminar on Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH)" officially concluded, marking a major leap forward in empowering ABEs to prioritize safety, compliance, and risk management across all agricultural and construction projects.

Over two intensive days, our 250 participating Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers mastered safety standards, hazard identification, and occupational health protocols, sharpening their tools to ensure every project is built responsibly and protects our workforce on the ground!
