The Rotary Club of Sta. Lucia Novaliches through Kap. Ruel Marpa, Punong Barangay of Sta. Lucia Novaliches officially turned over a bicycle food cart package to the chosen beneficiary. Our "Push Kita" project is our club signature project. It motivates us to help someone's strength and determination to grow into a successful, lasting ability to support not only for himself but also his family. This project falls under Rotary's Community and Economic Development, one of the Seven Areas of Focus, which helps us create sustainable projects that benefit communities in need.
After the club and Kap. Marpa had given a lot of consideration, they have decided on this year's recipient for this livelihood project: a 47-year, a loving husband and father of two, who has survived a stroke. Choosing him shows they are dedicated to helping people get better, especially those who have shown amazing resilience in the face of very hard times. This food cart isn't simply a business; it gives the man a way to be independent again and to support his family, even though his health makes things difficult. By helping with the financial burdens caused by his illness, the project shows how a community can truly change a family's life during a difficult period.
This project is a good example of what Rotary believes in: giving people the power to make a real difference. It is doing something about sympathy, turning difficulties into chances, and providing families and the entire community with the tools they need to make a living.
The actual handover of the cart marks the end of UFGP Mai Lacaden's time as Club President and is a strong way to finish her commitment to the club. Concluding her term with a project that uplifts a vulnerable yet determined individual highlights a legacy anchored in service, empathy, and lasting impact.
