PHILIPPINE RICE IMPORTERS ASSOCIATION (PRIA), INC.’S INAUGURATION MEETING – MAY 17, 2025
Entering a new phase on importing and collaboration for a more sustainable operation in theindustry of rice importation
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the Philippine Rice Importers Association (PRIA), Inc. celebrated and formally inaugurated the newly established organization, marking a noteworthy moment in the rice industry’s collective advancement initiated by the members.
This significant milestone has been achieved through the unwavering dedication and exceptional collaboration of our members, united by a shared goal: to become the official voice of the rice importation sector in the Philippines. To formally commence the program, Mr. Raffy Herrera, Chief Operations Officer of Primavera Ricemill Corporation and a proud member of PRIA, delivered a compelling opening address.
He acknowledged the collective efforts of his fellow members in successfully establishing an organization dedicated to representing rice importers in the Philippines. In his speech, Mr. Herrera emphasized PRIA’s commitment to supporting the Philippine government’s initiatives by
working in close collaboration to help ensure the availability of quality, affordable, and sufficient rice in the country.
Signifying a new era for the sector, the inauguration meeting was honored with the distinguished participation of our esteemed guest, Undersecretary Christopher Morales from the Department of Agriculture, who highlighted the advantage of having PRIA in future relevant affairs with regards to the country’s importation of rice.
Following the ceremonial signing between PRIA and Divina Law, the event proceeded with the official introduction of PRIA’s members—recognizing the individuals behind the formation of the organization and their shared commitment to advancing the rice importation sector.
With passionate voices, shared visions, and a strong commitment to uplifting the rice importation industry, this inauguration meeting wasn’t just a formality — it was a celebration of unity, purpose, and improvement.
