The Office of Akbayan Rep. Chel Diokno, in partnership with IPG, conducted a Roundtable Discussion on Local Sectoral Representation

The RTD gathered inputs for a proposed bill implementing the Local Government Code’s provisions for the election of women’s, workers’, and other sectoral representatives in the Sanggunians.

Based on current participatory practices and on-the-ground challenges, the discussion contributed inputs toward drafting legislation to strengthen meaningful people’s participation in local governance.

The RTD was attended by CSOs, Akbayan LGU officials, and members from LeadGov Hub and Women Power Hub - Womenph.
