Ambrosio A. Flores Chapter, Order of DeMolay

Ambrosio A. Flores Chapter, Order of DeMolay Ambrosio A. Flores Chapter, Order of DeMolay is the only DeMolay Chapter in Quezon City. The Ambrosio A. That is the Ambrosio pride. Critical thinking at its best.

Flores Chapter, Order of DeMolay is sponsored by Capitol City Lodge No. 174 & Norberto S. Amoranto Memorial Lodge No. 358 and is the sole DeMolay chapter within the jurisdiction of Quezon City. Guided by the DeMolay seven cardinal virtues--filial love, reverence for sacred things, courtesy, comradeship, fidelity, cleanness, and patriotism, the Chapter strives to help young men between ages 12 and

21 in their years of formation. Believing that the ages between 12 and 21 years are a boy's period of formation, we do our best to inculcate into the hearts of these young men, virtues which are very much needed in order to achieve their potentials. A typical meeting of the Chapter, begins not only within the confines of the Chapter room. Even without, the members of the Chapter, full of ideas on how to improve the organization, and the members as well, discuss matters which, to someone outside the organization, is inconceivable, for a young man to concern himself. Within the Chapter, we take our rituals seriously, for our ritual separates us from the others. Once the Books of Faith are opened, the schoolbooks set at the Altar, and the flag, mightily standing guard to protect all within, and most importantly, the Grand Creator, silently keeping watch, we do our best to perform that which every other young man who is part of our DeMolay family does best--- a proficient ex*****on of our rituals. Outside, we project an image of law abiding citizens. We project an image of young men doing their best to perpetuate and protect the public schools. We project an institution that is charitable. However, these projections are not like empty shells. We live by what we project. The young men who were once noisily chatting, bantering, and teasing one another, will grow into manhood and will become successful in their own chosen fields, and when they see another young brother DeMolay, still learning the ropes, they will smile and their hearts will be filled with gladness, for they will be looking at a reflection of themselves, many years ago. They will smile and be glad for they are sure, that the young man they are looking at, will surely become a treasure, not only to their beloved fraternity, but more importantly, to their beloved country. For that is how a true Ambrosio DeMolay is distinguished. He bears with him with dignity, that which his elder brothers have so long a time established. He bears with him the gift of being a member of the Ambrosio Flores Chapter. But this gift does not come cheap. And here lies the challenge to the members, to strive to be the best, to prove that we are indeed worthy bearers of the ideals of the namesake of the Order, and of the Chapter. For we are the members of the Ambrosio A. Flores Chapter. For more info please feel free to message us.

Last August 30, we hiked Mt. Samat National Shrine together with Mt. Samat Chapter No. 32 and Meridian Heights Chapter No. 82. This simple yet meaningful activity brought our chapters closer in unity and fellowship while allowing us to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of our Filipino heroes.

Mt. Samat stands as a solemn reminder of the Battle of Bataan and the harrowing Bataan Death March, where countless Filipinos endured unimaginable hardship. Walking its sacred grounds gave us the chance to honor their sacrifice and be inspired by their resilience in the face of adversity.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Mt. Samat Chapter No. 32 and Meridian Heights Chapter No. 82 for their support, camaraderie, and brotherhood throughout this activity. Their commitment and presence made this hike a truly memorable experience.

National Heroes Day

Today we honor the bravery and sacrifices of our heroes who laid down their lives so we may live in freedom. Their sacrifice is a reminder that the privilege we enjoy today was built on courage and unwavering faith in our nation's future. Their courage reminds us that true heroism is not measured by power but by love for country and willingness to serve other's. May we continue to live with the same dedication, and patriotism That our heroes embodied.

Today marks Ninoy Aquino Day, a significant observance in the Philippines, commemorated annually on August 21st. It honors the memory of Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.. Born on November 27, 1932, Tarlac, Philippines. A prominent figure in the country's history and a martyr for democracy. On August 21, 1983, Ninoy Aquino was assassinated upon his arrival at the Manila International Airport (now named Ninoy Aquino International Airport in his Honor). His death was a pivotal moment in Philippine History.

His legacy continues to inspire generations of Filipinos. His famous words, "The Filipino is worth dying for," make Ninoy Aquino Day not just a day of remembrance but a day of historical significance honoring Benigno "Ninoy" S. Aquino Jr.

Today, August 19, we commemorate the 147th birth anniversary of Manuel Luis Quezon, the 2nd President of the Philippinesโ€”after whom Quezon City is namedโ€”and who is revered as the โ€œFather of the National Language.โ€ Through Republic Act No. 6741, this day is observed as a special non-working holiday in Quezon City and the provinces of Quezon and Aurora, honoring his immense contributions to our nationโ€™s history and identity, including his founding of Quezon City as the Philippinesโ€™ capital in 1939.

๐Ÿ” DID YOU KNOW?
Between 1937 and 1941, President Quezon opened the Philippines as a refuge for over 1,200 Jewish people fleeing the Holocaust. At a time when many nations shut their doors, he chose compassion, giving them safety and dignity.

As we celebrate his enduring legacy, may we remember both his humanity and his vision. And may we also reflect on his powerful words:

On July 27, 2025, the Honorable Sires of Ambrosio A. Flores Chapter No. 45 visited the Quezon City Memorial Circle Museum and Car Museum to commemorate the legacy of President Manuel L. Quezon, the second President of the Philippines and the first President of the Commonwealth.

Born on August 19, 1878, in Baler, died on August 1, 1944. Quezon played a vital role in the countryโ€™s path to independence. He is remembered for promoting social justice, land reform, and the national language, earning him the title โ€œAma ng Wikang Pambansa.โ€

His remains are now enshrined at the Quezon Memorial Shrine, a lasting symbol of his leadership and patriotism. The visit was both educational and reflective, honoring Quezonโ€™s contributions to Philippine independence and the promotion of a national language.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Moms and Dads who joined us in this meaningful activity.

Today, we commemorate the life and legacy of Apolinario Mabini, the โ€œBrains of the Revolutionโ€ and the first Prime Minister of the Philippines. Despite being paralyzed from the waist down, Mabiniโ€™s intellect and unwavering patriotism shaped the political foundation of the First Philippine Republic. As chief adviser to President Emilio Aguinaldo, he provided strategic guidance during the most turbulent years of the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine-American War.

Mabiniโ€™s writings, most notably The True Decalogue and La Revoluciรณn Filipina, continue to influence generations of Filipinos on the importance of moral integrity, principled leadership, and national sovereignty. He believed that true independence could only be achieved through unity, education, and a deeply rooted sense of responsibility toward the nation.

His life stands as a testament that greatness is not limited by physical strength, but is defined by clarity of thought, strength of character, and the courage to uphold truth and justice. As we celebrate Mabini Day, may we be reminded of his vision and strive to live out the ideals he devoted his life to: freedom grounded in wisdom, service, and sacrificeโ€”for a better, more dignified Philippines.
