Since 1992, we’ve turned strangers into trail family, first hikes into lifelong habits, and weekend escapes into a promise to care for the earth. 🌿 From first-hike jitters and muddy boots to shared meals, sunrise high-fives, and rescue drills, we carry more than packs—𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.

On every climb, 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐞, 𝐰𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧, 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 — 𝙬𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙣𝙤 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙣𝙤 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚.

We take this moment to celebrate two of our esteemed members of the TIP-Mountaineering Club who graduated this year, 2025 🎓—Gerald Sacramento and Keeyan Maranan. This milestone reflects not only their academic excellence but also their dedication to the values of perseverance and resilience that define both mountaineering and life itself.

Balancing the demands of academics and their passion for the outdoors is no small feat, yet they have proven that with determination, every summit can be reached 🏔️. Their journey is an inspiration to all, reminding us that challenges are opportunities to rise higher.

As we reach the 32nd year of our journey, we reflect on the peaks we've conquered and the bonds we've forged. This year, our adventure took us to the heights of Ilocos Sur, where we braved the challenging trails of Mt. Namandiraan. It wasn't just about reaching the summit— it was about the friendships built along the way, the shared struggles, and the unbreakable camaraderie that defines us as mountaineers.

Every step we took on that mountain was a testament to our determination, resilience, and the spirit of TIP - Mountaineering Club. Hand in hand, we pushed beyond our limits, inspired by the same passion that has driven us for over three decades.

As we stand on the pinnacle of another year. We see a new horizon full of adventure, with every new challenge, our bond continues to grow stronger. This is who we are— united by our love for the great outdoors, and committed to carrying forward the legacy of TIP - Mountaineering Club.

On this day, we celebrate and honor our heroes from the past and the present from their contributions and sacrifice that led to our nations freedom. 🇵🇭

Aside from honoring the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of our national heroes. We'd like to share some fun facts and article about our national hero Jose Rizal as a tribute to his love for outdoors.
Historical records reveal Rizal's participation in the Leitmeritz Mountaineering Club, even delivering a well-received speech at a board meeting in 1887. This anecdote hints at his fascination with exploration and the allure of uncharted territories.

The same year, upon returning to the Philippines, Rizal finally fulfilled his boyhood dream of climbing Mount Makiling. He was accompanied by Jose Taviel de Andrade, the personal es**rt assigned to him by the governor general amid controversy over the recently published “Noli.”

In his own retelling of the legend of Mariang Makiling, Rizal described their hike in terms that today’s mountaineers can appreciate: "We saw delightful places, charming places, worthy to be inhabited by gods and goddesses. Tall trees with straight and mossy trunks, among whose branches the vines weave most beautiful laces embroidered with flowers, most rare and varied parasitic plants from the threadlike form to the toothed broad leaf, the split or circular gigantic ferns, palms of all kinds, tall and graceful… and this and more we have seen and admired, suspending our march at various times in order to tarry ecstatic….”

On the article the author said that we do not know which other mountains Rizal climbed, but we know that they held a special place in his heart. Deforestation, habitat destruction, species extinction: All these were distant concerns during Rizal’s time.

Therefore as an outdoorsman we should contribute to conservation efforts by minimizing our impact on the environment. Let us choose sustainable practices and strive to be a responsible outdoor goer.

May we all have a meaningful National Heroes Day.

Time really flies so fast, another year has been capped off. In celebration of 31 years in great outdoors, we headed to the highest peak in Camarines Norte where we witnessed the beauty of the infamous rafflesia amidst poison ivies and soaked in cold fresh waters of Angelica falls in Mt. Labo. ✨

Upon reaching the summit, we were reminded that through the years, we remain resilient, united, and dedicated in keeping our rich legacy of overcoming nature's trails and traversing paths unknown to many. May we continuously evolved and strive to create crazy moments, discover new trails and unfold new stories to pass on to the future generation.

Cheers to 31 years, kapatid! 💚

Saturday, July 8, 2023, was a blast as we participated in our training program and learned life-saving skills. This is important for mountaineers, as it equips us with essential skills to deal with unforeseen difficulties in the mountains.

A sincere thank you to the incredible team of Mr. Aldrin Miguel Cordero and Mrs. Cecilia Cordero, who led us with their expertise and passion. 💛

We also recognize those who actively participated in the training, demonstrating their dedication to fostering safety and protecting the natural beauty of the highlands.

Together, we can make a positive difference and set a standard for responsible mountaineering. ✨

In celebration of the Earth Day 2023, let us go back to the previous activity of Linangang Permakultura ng Sierra Madre where we had experience, learn and uncover the ecological process to our physical, social, and emotional landscapes, with the goal of creating, living and evolving sustainable systems that mimics nature which we can apply not just in our homes but also to ourselves as a moutaineers.

Let us spread knowledge about the importance of caring our Mother Earth. ✨
