AFP, NHCP TO STAGE MUSIKALAYAAN 2025 MUSICAL THEATRE PLAY IN CELEBRATING 127TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

CAMP EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and the Civil Relations Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through its Media and Civil Affairs Group (MCAG), will stage Musikalayaan 2025 at the Rizal Park Open-Air Auditorium in Manila on June 5, 2025.

Themed “Pagtatanghal para sa Karagatan ng Pilipinas: Our Seas, Our Rights, Our Future,” the play aims to promote national consciousness on the importance of safeguarding the West Philippine Sea and asserting the country’s sovereign maritime rights.

This initiative also forms part of the lead-up to the 127th Philippine Independence Day celebration.

“This musical theatre play will serve as an avenue for defense agencies to enjoin the public to be proud of a nation blessed with a history of valor and gallantry,” Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said, the AFP Spokesperson and Commander of MCAG.

She added that through music, she hopes to connect with fellow Filipinos and inspire them to value national sovereignty and maritime heritage.

The play will feature musical and dance performances by men and women in uniform, including personnel from the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the Philippine Coast Guard.

Also performing are the Philippine Army Marching Band and the Indayaw Dance Company from Signal Village National High School, Taguig City.

In addition, artist-reservists will share their talents, including SGT Geneva Cruz, PAF (Res); 1LT RONNIE LIANG, PA (RES); SGT Khimo Goemon C. Gumatay, PAF (Res); SGT Ramona Cecilia D. Munoz, PAF (Res); MU2 Ernani Lazaro M. Cuenco, PN (Res) and 2LT ROCCO NACINO NC (RES).

Musikalayaan 2025 is a free-admission event and will also be aired live via DWDD 1134 kHz AFP Radio, allowing more Filipinos across the country to take part in the patriotic festivities.
