Loyola Mountaineers

Loyola Mountaineers The Loyola Mountaineers is the premier mountaineering organization of the Ateneo de Manila University. Like and follow for updates on our open activities!

The Loyola Mountaineers envisions a society of individuals that have a drive to nurture their skills, fully aware of the needs of the country and active participants in the challenge of nation building. We envision a society of individuals who are appreciative of nature and advocates of environmental conservation and rehabilitation, and who, in the spirit of willing service, are competent and responsible servants to their countrymen.

The Columbia Konos Trillium ATR and Speed Trail ATR handled Mt. Batulao’s trail run exactly the way you’d want trail shoes to. Steady on rocky sections, comfortable on long stretches, and reliable through every descent! 🥾

See you on the next trail run!

Take a look at the orgs who answered the call of the mountains! 🤙

From different corners of the Ateneo community, these orgs stepped out of the campus and onto the trail, taking on new terrain and a different kind of experience together. 🥾

Health Sciences Society of the Ateneo (HSS) and Ateneo Environmental Science Society (AESS) climbed Mt. Pamitinan, Ateneo CODE took on Mt. Mariglem, and Ateneo Management Engineering Association (MEA) made their way through Mt. Daraitan.

Congratulations on taking on the mountains and getting a real taste of what it’s like to be a mountaineer. We appreciate these orgs for trusting us and being part of our Org Open Climbs. We hope this is just the start of many more climbs ahead. 🤝

They were, without a doubt, UP FOR IT! ☝️

That’s a wrap for LM Week 2026! ☀️

LM Week came and went, but the moments stuck. As we marked 33 years of LM, we started with the 33-hour run, had our fair share of fun with the fishball eating contest, stepped outside for a nature walk, and took time to listen and learn during the ecological debt and mining law forum. 🌳

The LM Awards wrapped it all up, recognizing moments and people that stood out, from those who covered the most distance in the 33-hour run to the most active members during the apps process, and crowd favorites across the org.

Looking back on the week, it’s clear that what we’ve built over the years continues to grow stronger with every step forward. Couldn’t have done it without the community and Decathlon being part of it too. 🏃

Chasing summits, chasing miles. 🌄🏃‍♂️

The Loyola Mountaineers took on The Wild Side of Sagada 2026 Trail Run moving through foggy mornings, rocky descents, and narrow trails carved into the mountains.

With good company, steady footing, and gear that kept up—powered by Columbia’s Konos Trillium ATR and Speed Trail ATR, we stayed light on our feet and ready for whatever the mountains threw our way.

Ready for whatever the trail gives. See you on the next run!

Tanawin ang Adbokasiyang LM ⛰️

While known to be the premier hiking org in Ateneo, the Loyola Mountaineers ground their activities in the heart of the advocacy— environmental stewardship. 🌏 For every mountain we climb, we cannot separate the responsibility we hold toward proper conservation of the environment and empowering the communities who preserve it.
Take a look into the efforts the org makes within and beyond the Ateneo to stand with and for the environment and indigenous peoples. 🤝

Tanawin ang Kasaysayang LM 🌞

Tune back 33 years ago, to the people who planted the seeds which grew into what we know of LM today. With what began as a simple idea between friends, the first mountaineering org in Ateneo was born.

Hi-Ho 🎵 Hi-Ho 🎵 It's off to work we go!

Hear the singing dwarves picks and shovels? Well, maybe you shouldn't.

This Earth Day, take a step beyond appreciation and into action with the Ecological Debt and Mining Forum organized by the Loyola Mountaineers, in partnership with Alyansa Kontra Mina, Legal Rights and Natural Resources Center, and the Ateneo Environmental Science Society. Join us as we explore the concept of ecological debt and unpack how mining practices contribute to environmental degradation and social inequities–especially among indigenous communities. Maybe the dwarves were not the good guys after all?

If you’re a fan of the beautiful landspaces of the Philippines and desire to learn more about the realities that they face, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.

🗓️ Date: April 22, 2026

🕔 Time: 5:00–7:00 PM

📍 Venue: SOM 111, Ateneo de Manila University
