"How can we be men and women for others?"

This was the question posed by a group of college sophomores who wanted to make a difference. And more than two decades later, hundreds of Trailblazers are answering that call.

What began as Alay ni Ignacio (ANI)—a program offering summer classes to bridge public high school students to college—soon realized that academic excellence alone wasn’t enough. To truly thrive, these students needed a community to nurture them into discerning and ethical leaders. That community, that holistic accompaniment program is what we know today as Pathways.

Over the years, ANI has worked alongside Pathways as its student arm, accompanying our youth toward a brighter future. As they mark their 25th Anniversary Homecoming this May 17, we celebrate the incredible community that continues to make this shared mission possible.

This Labor Day, Pathways celebrates the tireless dedication of a community closest to our heart: the public school sector 💛

We honor and thank our public school teachers—especially those who have walked alongside us over the years—for patiently nurturing the nation’s next generation of leaders. Know that the steadfast work of your hands and your hearts is the very foundation that allows our youth to reach their highest potential 🧑‍🏫🧑‍🎓

College Jumpstart is now in session 📚

Last Wednesday, Batch 22 took their first major step in their college preparation journey with a full day of activities:

📝 The morning began in deep focus with the College Entrance Test (CET) classes, expertly guided by Ms. Jonalie Montes from our trusted partner, the Loyola Student Center (LSC).

🏠 In the afternoon, the energy shifted toward connection and foundational skills as our dedicated Alay ni Ignacio (ANI) volunteers led the Homeroom and English Grammar sessions.

🏫 To cap off the long day, our partners from the Office of Admission and Aid gave the participants a tour of the Ateneo de Manila campus—familiarizing them where we’ll be holding our onsite activities.

This kickoff is just the first of many milestones in their six-year journey with the Pathways family. Stay tuned to witness their stories and dreams unfold! 💛💙

OrSem may have ended, but your journey has just begun 🌄

Last Sunday, Escaler Hall was brimming with anticipation and excitement as we joined the newest batch of participants, and their parents, in their Orientation Seminar (OrSem). The morning began with a comprehensive presentation from our Director and the Pathways program officers followed by a trivia game from our hosts. The halls roared with cheers and laughter as everyone tried to get their answers in one after the other as they recalled their learnings from the orientation. After calming down their spirited competition, we bid farewell to the parents and marched out to CTC for the second half of the program.

The afternoon session kept the momentum going with an engaging and insightful set of activities. We kicked things off with the OrSem dance, getting everyone moving to the beat of Bini’s Karera. Everyone including the staff put their heart out to sync to the choreography led by our talented volunteers, who, this time around, were the ones teaching the choreography instead of frantically chasing the beats. After catching their breath, our partners from Guia took the stage for an insightful presentation, giving the participants a close look at the new AI-powered tools they’ll be using for their College Jumpstart program.

At the last stretch of the program, our participants broke off into different groups with their facilitators to understand more about their personal values and that of Pathways as well. A workshop was held where participants crafted creative CV’s that mapped out their strengths and values on paper dolls. This was followed by a dynamic roaming activity where they connected with peers to share their strengths, identify their "YES" (Yet to Strengthen) Values, and take the time to bond with their fellow participants. To close out the activities, they were given a quiet moment to reflect and take the day's learnings to heart.

We would like to thank all of the participants and parents for spending your precious Sunday with us and for committing to this wonderful program. To our volunteers, we thank you as well for making sure that our participants get the best start to their Pathways journey. Last, but definitely not the least, we thank our partners from Guia for taking the time to orient our participants about their platform and its amazing features.

Once again, we officially welcome you to Pathways, Batch 22☀️

We can’t begin to express how excited we are to spend the coming years with you!

From the altruism of a couple of college sophomores to the community we cherish today, the journey to 24 years has only been possible because of those who generously and religiously served as the heart of this program.

That being said, we thank and recognize our roots:

🧑‍🎓 To the batches who put their faith in the program,
👪 To the parents who entrusted us with the future of their children,
🤲 To the donors who offered their immeasurable generosity without hesitation,
🤝 To our partners who have and continue to collaborate with us
🔥 To the alumni who continue to live and support our mission,
🙌 To the volunteers who poured their sweat and tears for our events,
💼 To the staff members who make each and every program possible,
💙 To Alay ni Ignacio (ANI), our student arm who is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year,

We celebrate this 24th Anniversary with all of you 🫶

Thank you for making 24 years a reality 💛
