PKKK Youth at Plan Philippines’ Girls Summit in partnership with Quezon City Government

Kung ligtas ang batang babae, ligtas ang komunidad!

Ngayong International Day of the Girl, pormal nang inilunsad ng Quezon City Government at Plan International ang national campaign na .

Isinusulong ng lokal na pamahalaan at Plan International ang inklusyon ng mga kababaihan at batang babae sa komunidad, kung saan malaya at ligtas silang mamuno at makapagpahayag.

Nakiisa si Mayor Joy Belmonte sa official launch ng campaign, kasama sina Coun. Aly Medalla, Plan International Pilipinas Executive Director Pebbles Sanchez-Ogang, Atty. Ma. Lara Dominique Sanchez ng Department of Justice, Embassy of Kingdom of Norway in the Philippines Mr. Per Nicolai Langas, Climate Change Commission Comissioner Atty. Rachel Anne Herrera, at Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) Head Margie Mejia.

Dumalo naman sa pagtitipon ang mga youth advocates ng Plan International mula sa iba-ibang lungsod at munisipalidad, at mga scholar ng QC Youth Development Office.

Oxfam Pilipinas, National Rural Women Coalition (PKKK), together with the Government of Canada (Embassy of Canada in the Philippines), Oxfam Canada, and local organizations, launched the Care Connect project in Biliran on July 24, 2025, emphasizing the need to recognize care work as real work and institutionalize care programs and policies at the local level.

The project seeks to promote the recognition, redistribution, and reduction of unpaid care work in the country. Care work refers to activities that support the well-being of others—such as childcare, eldercare, and household tasks—often performed by women and girls and are essential to society and the economy.
