The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) raises serious concerns regarding the proposed 𝗣𝗮𝘅 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘂𝗯 and its potential environmental impacts. While development and technological advancement are often presented as drivers of progress, they must never compromise the health of our ecosystems, natural resources, and communities.
Industrial expansion can place significant pressure on the environment through increased land conversion, habitat disruption, resource extraction, waste generation, and higher energy consumption. These impacts can threaten biodiversity, reduce ecological resilience, and contribute to environmental degradation if not carefully managed and monitored.
As environmental stewards, we believe that true progress is measured not only by economic gains but also by how well we protect our forests, waterways, wildlife, and climate for future generations. The pursuit of innovation, including AI and industrial development, should be guided by sustainability, accountability, and environmental justice.
YES-O calls for thorough environmental assessments, meaningful public consultation, transparency in project planning, and strong safeguards that prioritize ecological protection. We stand for a future where development works with nature—not against it.
