PAGBATI!✨

Yesterday, the Quezon City Youth Network Executive Council (QCYNEC) concluded a meaningful chapter with our final Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT) session, led by the remarkable teams of EDC and O2.

This session wasn't just about reflecting on our progress through activities like headline creation, consensus scoring, and crafting action plans. It was also a moment to celebrate everything we’ve accomplished as an organization—a journey made possible through the unwavering support of EDC and O2.

From the beginning, EDC and O2 have been the driving force behind QCYNEC. Their efforts helped establish our organization and empower us to take part in projects that have truly made an impact:

📚 Education Initiatives

-Participating in ALS Kumustahan programs across Quezon City.

-Supporting Brigada Eskwela to improve learning environments for students.

💼 Entrepreneurship Programs

-Training young entrepreneurs (OSY) through BYOB sessions.

-Showcasing youth creativity and innovation during Business Pitching activities.

👨‍🏫 Training and Employment Opportunities

-TESDA training sessions, such as baking, to equip youth with valuable skills.

-Work immersion programs that opened doors to new career opportunities for the OSY.

These are just some of the many initiatives that have become a reality because of their commitment to uplifting young people and creating opportunities for growth.

This final OCAT may close a chapter, but the legacy you’ve built with us will continue to inspire QCYNEC to thrive and lead. Thank you, EDC and O2, for being the foundation of our journey and for empowering us to make a lasting impact. We are forever grateful for everything you’ve done for the youth of Quezon City. 💚

QCYNEC’s OCAT Journey! 🤙

Yesterday, November 30, 2024, we conducted the Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT) Training, where we evaluated QCYNEC’s performance across 21 key indicators. Through Consensus Scoring, Score Tabulation, and Identification of Capacity Level, we carefully discussed each score, ensuring that every decision reflected our organization’s true state.

While some moments brought a mix of emotions, particularly with lower scores, the open dialogue and teamwork showcased the commitment of QCYNEC members and officers to improve and grow together.

With an average score of 2.39, we’re proud to be recognized as a Functioning Youth Organization. This milestone reflects not just where we are today but the potential we have to reach even greater heights.

The road ahead is clear: through dedication, collaboration, and a shared vision, we’ll continue to grow stronger, one step at a time. Here's to a brighter future for QCYNEC!

"The Ladder of Success Featuring QCYNEC"

On November 30, 2024, the Quezon City Youth Network Executive Council (QCYNEC), together with youth leaders from Pasig and Valenzuela City, participated in the Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool Training.

During the session, QCYNEC presented our vision through the headline, "The Ladder of Success Featuring QCYNEC," led by our President, JP Reyes. Each step of our ladder symbolizes our journey:

-Family, as our foundation, providing strength and support.

-QCYNEC, as the platform where our dreams and efforts converge.

-Dedication, as the driving force behind our commitment to serve.

-Money, at the top, representing sustainability to further our impact.

This training inspired us to continue building stronger connections and climbing together toward success!

Earlier today, November 28, 2024, the Quezon City Youth Network Executive Council (QCYNEC) made its mark at the prestigious Green Awards 2024, held at the Quezon City MICE Center! Leading the way was our passionate Vice President, Leonardo Ladisla, joined by our dedicated members Asleah and Phoebe. Adding to this incredible moment, we were honored by the presence of our valued partners, Ma’am Hazel and Ma’am Aimee from USAID Opportunity 2.0 and EDC, who stood with us in support of our advocacy.

Although we didn’t win an award today, we are incredibly thankful and grateful for the opportunity to share our GIGATONE Challenge—our initiative to compost food waste into free fertilizer for farmers, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and fighting climate change.

This event reminded us that the true reward lies in the journey, the impact of our efforts, and the unwavering support from those who believe in us. Seeing so many inspiring projects only fuels our determination to push forward and continue our mission.

To everyone who cheered us on, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This is just the beginning, and together, we’ll keep building a greener, brighter future for our community and the planet! 💚

We celebrated the incredible success stories of youth leaders and their unwavering commitment to uplifting out-of-school youth (OSY). The event highlighted how Opportunity 2.0 programs are opening doors and creating meaningful opportunities for osy, empowering them to drive impactful change.
