YOUNG GUNS DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP 🏆
The final game of SSA Coralejo Cup Season 1 delivered the matchup everyone had been waiting for—a rematch of last year’s Alumni Championship between Batch 2009 and Batch 2012.
From the opening tip, it lived up to the hype. Both teams traded blows, answered every run, and battled through countless lead changes in what was shaping up to be an instant classic. Neither side was willing to give an inch, and every possession felt like it could decide the championship.
With the score tied at 83-83 and only seconds remaining, a disputed foul call was made, sending Batch 2009 to the free-throw line for two crucial shots. The call changed the course of the game, and emotions ran high.
Unfortunately, before the game could reach its natural conclusion, Batch 2012 left the court, resulting in a forfeiture. By league rules, Batch 2009 was awarded the victory and crowned the SSA Coralejo Cup Season 1 Young Guns Champions, marking their 5th consecutive championship. 🏆
No one wanted the season to end this way. After such an incredible battle, everyone hoped the championship would be decided in the final seconds on the court. While the ending was unfortunate, it does not erase the heart, passion, and competitiveness both teams displayed throughout the game.
Congratulations to Batch 2009 on capturing their 5th consecutive championship, and respect to Batch 2012 for an outstanding season and an unforgettable finals appearance.
