As we celebrates National Women’s Month, advocating for labor rights and gender equality, the Inner Wheel of Hiyas ng Silangan Club participated on this activity dubbed as “Women’s Month Fair” held at the Ayala Malls Feliz in Marikina on March 24,2026. SNVP Lilu Yambao talked about the organization , its history goals and invutes the women to join Inner Wheel.
Atty. Mildred Tria and Leslie Yambao, two prominent officers of Hiyas ng Silangan Club gladly shared their thoughts and addressed gender equality and women empowerment.
Atty MildredTria, in her speech tackles gender equality and women’s rights that encompassed under the law of Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC).
Tria cited grounds for filing a VAWC (Violence Against Women and Their Children) case under Republic Act 9262 include physical, s*xual, psychological, and economic abuse committed by a husband, ex-husband, partner, or ex-partner. These acts must cause, or likely cause, mental, emotional, or physical harm.
She explicitly discussed theses critical issues and grounds concerning women’s rights.
“We acknowledged that women contributes to the development of our nation and of our country”, she said.
Leslie Yambao likewise honored the women’s contributions and their advocacy for gender equality as well its role in nation-building.
“Parang nakikita ko dito, empowered na ang mga women dito”. Yambao reiterated.
