Did you know that Health Futures Foundation, Inc. (HFI) trains Community Health Workers (CHWs) on Acupressure? Acupressure can act as a complementary mode of managing conditions in the community as an accessible and non-invasive practice

To teach the community members on how to perform basic acupressure, HFI’s Community Health Nurse, Ms. Angeline Dela Cruz, facilitated the Acupressure training of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and Cluster Leaders (CLs) in Tandoc, Talugtug, Nueva Ecija.

During the training, knowledge on the importance of acupressure and skills on how to perform basic acupressure techniques were discussed. In their next sessions, the participants will recite and practice the techniques they learned to master and apply them in real life. The acupressure training is a part of the Community-Based Health and Wellness Program to introduce traditional and complementary ways of managing diseases in the community.

The Community-Based Health and Wellness Program is an integral component of HFI’s banner program, Alay sa Ginhawa at Kalusugan, which aims to create empowered and self-reliant communities living in an improved, efficient, healthy, and organized locality with equity and quality health care.
