Truth has a frontline — and it's in our fisherfolk communities.

This July, BFAR Information Officers and National Task Force on the West Philippine Sea Information Working Group (NTF WPS-IWG) members leveled up their skills to counter misinformation on the WPS — through a 3-day technical orientation by Probe Media Foundation, Inc. and Probe .

With inspiring messages from Asst. Dir. Gen. Cornelio H. Valencia Jr. (NSC Spokesperson), Nazario Briguera (BFAR Spokesperson), Prof. Nygiel Armada (Chief of Party, Fish Right), and broadcast journalists Cheche Lazaro and Atom Araullo.

Plus legal insights from Atty. Fretti Ganchoon (DOJ), fact-checking know-how from Philstar.com and Vera Files, and hands-on training design from Probe — all geared toward one goal: bringing truthful, evidence-based narratives straight to the communities that need them most.

This activity is part of the ATIN WPS Initiative, supported by the US Embassy Manila's Fish Right Program.

‘FOSTERING A CULTURE OF CARE IN THE DIGITAL SPACE’

The digital world has its dangers, but our truth defenders don't have to navigate them alone.

Probe, in partnership with the Probe Media Foundation, Inc. (PMFI), rolled out the second "FYP IRL: For Your Safety In Real Life.” Through workshops, discussions, and hands-on exercises, this initiative builds a strong culture of care by giving digital creators the defense mechanisms they need to secure their platforms and well-being.

This is a continuation of a proud legacy: since 2021, Probe and PMFI have pioneered collaborations between traditional media and digital creators to stand firm against disinformation.
