It is more apparent that ever, that Infra based solutions alone, will not solve the state of our environment today. The occasional heavy rains that continue to cause flooding in several cities and localities must be address with multi prong solutions to include nature-based solutions, proper solid waste management and active people's participation.

In our own little way, we launched the Tree Growing Project 1 in conjunction with the BLSD/ANSD 18th Founding Anniversary & 13th Charter Anniversary to rally various stakeholders and partners in adopting similar project to promote climate action.

This project was able to mobilize 41 leaders and volunteers to plant more than 70 fruit bearing trees at Mambog Eco Park, Brgy. Mambog, Malolos City. Bulacan last June 30, 2026.

The project was spearheaded by the Bridging Leaders for Sustainable Development Inc. and the Asian Network for Sustainable Development Inc. in partnership with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office- City Government of Malolos, the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office and the Office of Malolos City Vice Mayor- the Hon. Gilbert Gatchalian.

BLSD & ANSD Chairman and CEO, James Gregor L. Asuelo, shared his office's flagship Advocacy Campaign, " The Shared Prosperity Initiative" (SPI) where he envisioned to push Filipinos, to be prosperous and usher the country into one of the most progressive and wealthiest nation in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Region.

This is not impossible, because more than 50 years ago, we as a nation, were richer than Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia among others in Southeast Asia, and in fact only next to Japan several years earlier, in terms of GDP Per Capita.

In doing so, we must invest in the following:

1. so that the best and brightest will have access to the most competitive and innovative schools in the world,

2. Invest in & so that the poorest of the poor will gain access to quality, affordable and reliable public healthcare system and our children and our people will grow healthy and well nourished,

3. Invest in , & for industry revitalization, so that science and technology will lead in breakthroughs and innovative solutions, mobilize industry, usher solutions and growth and create jobs,

4. Continue and Expand by Locally, our and 's so that we can produce globally competitive products and services at scale and at far with the world. This in turn will help create more jobs in rural areas, increase taxes and government revenue, democratize development and incomes, and help our GDP Grow significantly.

5, Invest in and by ensuring that we can sustainably feed our more than 117 Million Filipinos in the next decade. In doing so, we must not rely on imports alone, but to bridge the gap in local demand, we must rather increase our local production, by adopting the use of technology to mitigate the adverse effect of climate change, increase production by involving private sector financing, and modernizing the whole value chain.

6. Help in and the , means that we are able to use efficiently and sustainably manage and utilize, the resources entrusted to us by the generations before us and after us. It means harnessing the potential of the Blue and Green Economy for equitable access and responsible use, that will benefit the greater number of people through the most prudent way of utilization and consumption. Excessive and Extractive means to gain profit must be prevented through policy and legislation.

7. Develop here and abroad. By doing so, we can mainstream our resources, maximize our impact, we can develop a wider and global network of expertise and knowledge sharing platform, and we can expedite development and progress by bridging leaders, bridging people and bridging communities.

These 7 agenda under the BLSD/ANSD-Shared Prosperity Initiative (SPI) will help us increase the potential of every Filipinos to grow, succeed and be wealthy.

After all, we want you to succeed, because when you do, our country will succeed greatly too.
