Dear MedNet Community:

As 2025 comes to an end, I extend my sincere thanks to all of you: our Board of Trustees, Executive Director and staff, members, trainers, mentors, donors, and partners in the government and private sector.

Despite various internal and external challenges, our team rose to the occasion in 2025. We successfully conducted several trainings with our partners, published our Mediator magazine, and held a joint national conference with the Office of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR).

We also held regular Board of Trustees (BOT) meetings and consultations with our communities. We also touched base with our partner Misereor, through its international and local representatives, and renewed our mutual commitment.

We look forward to the opportunities and possibilities that 2026 will bring. We will continue to work with our stakeholders to forge more collaboration and create greater impact.

We wish you all a Meaningful Christmas and a Peaceful New Year!

From: Atty. Allan Barcena, President

The EDSA People Power Revolution on February 22-25, 1986 stands as a testament to the power of peaceful resistance, successfully averting bloodshed between the military and protesters. Millions of Filipinos formed human barricades on Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), preventing troop movements and potential clashes. The non-violent approach, strengthened by prayers and acts of goodwill, helped to sway many in the military to defect or stand down. This civil resistance effectively neutralized the Marcos regime's capacity for violent repression, demonstrating that the people united could restore democracy.
