🚨 NEW PUBLICATION ALERT!

Children are speaking up about their rights in the digital world!

“Gen Z Feels for Reels: Listening to Children on Digital Rights” highlights children's perspectives on online safety, privacy, misinformation, freedom of expression, and meaningful participation.

It brings together children's insights, experiences, and recommendations from a three-day children’s consultation led by Child Rights Coalition Asia, ChildFund Philippines, Chorogusan Korea, and Meta, in partnership with the Down to Zero Alliance in the Philippines last 2025.

Safe Together is an initiative under Asia Joining Forces — under whose banner ChildFund International, Plan International, Save the Children International, SOS Children's Villages International, Terre des Hommes International Federation, World Vision International, and Child Rights Coalition Asia leverage their collective strength to accelerate progress in securing children’s rights and ending violence against children.

We’re proud to share that CRC Asia is supporting the “Violence Ends With Us” Asia-Pacific Youth-Led Summit on Ending Violence Against Children, taking place on 14–16 April 2026 in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Organised by the Global Youth-Led Movement on Ending Violence Against Children, this first-ever regional youth-led summit will bring together 150 young advocates aged 13–25 from across the Asia-Pacific 🌏 to collaborate on solutions addressing four urgent issues affecting children:

• Child Labour
• Child, Early, and Forced Marriage
• Corporal Punishment
• Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

As partners, we believe in the power of youth leadership and the importance of creating spaces where children, young people, and survivors can meaningfully shape the solutions that impact their lives.

Over three days, young leaders will engage in dialogues, learning sessions, and a regional hackathon to co-create practical, youth-led solutions ✨

As the Philippines prepares to host the 2nd Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children in November 2026, this summit plays a critical role in ensuring that youth voices are not only included — but are leading the way forward 👣

We are honoured to stand alongside this movement and support the collective effort to build a safer, violence-free future for every child.

Violence ends with us.

This Women’s Month, we recognize the strength and leadership of girls who are speaking up for change.

Alena is a young advocate who speaks out against the sexual exploitation of children with clarity and conviction. Alena is proof that when girls are meaningfully empowered, they help uplift and transform their communities. ✨

Statement of Child Rights Coalition Asia (CRC Asia) on the Escalating Crisis in the Middle East: Listen to Children, Uphold Their Rights

Children are paying the highest price in the escalating crisis in the Middle East.

Across affected communities, thousands of children have lost their lives, while many more have been injured, displaced, and separated from their families. Homes, schools, and places that should be safe for children have been destroyed. Entire childhoods are being disrupted by violence, fear, and uncertainty.

War is always devastating for children. Beyond the tragic loss of life, armed conflict strips children of their rights — to protection, to education, to play, to health, and to grow up in safe and supportive environments.

CRC Asia recalls that children consulted for General Comment No. 27 made clear that their rights must be upheld even in times of crisis — and that protection is not limited to physical survival.

As children themselves said:
“Listen to us when decisions are made about our lives.”
“We want safe places to learn and play.”
“We need help to deal with what we’ve seen and felt.”

These are not optional services — they are rights.

The crisis also affects children far beyond the immediate areas of conflict. Many children around the world are witnessing images and hearing stories of the suffering of children and communities in the Middle East, which can cause fear, distress, and anxiety that affect their mental health and well-being. At the same time, many children have parents or family members working in the affected areas, creating deep uncertainty about their safety and stability. The social and economic consequences of the turmoil therefore extend beyond borders, affecting the well-being and security of children globally.

CRC Asia calls on all parties to uphold international humanitarian and human rights law, ensure the protection of children at all times, guarantee unimpeded humanitarian access, and meaningfully include children’s voices in response and recovery efforts.

Children must never be treated as collateral damage. They are rights-holders.

Let’s .

As we mark this month, we asked children and youth across Asia:

What makes you feel unsafe online?

Here’s what they shared.

Now more than ever, we must work together to build an online world where children can safely express themselves, where their data and identities are protected, and where their voices are heard on issues that matter — like online safety.

Let’s and work with them — not just for them — to create a safer digital world for all. 💻 📱
