United Rider Sportsbike Alliance Incorporated - URSA

United Rider Sportsbike Alliance Incorporated - URSA The United Rider Sport Bike Alliance (URSA) is primarily a group of motorcycle enthusiasts who share the same passion and love of motorcycles.

Mission, Vision, and Objectives

We, the United Rider Sport Bike Alliance (URSA), are a dedicated and responsible group of motorcycle riders who hold to an unwavering respect for every disciplined rider. We are committed to providing the necessary knowledge, tools, and the venue for riders to develop their skills and their passion for motorcycling; to share with the less fortunate the blessings we

enjoy through charity work, community service, and fellowship; to promoting respect and camaraderie among members and to leave no man behind during rides, and to preserve and support the aims and goals of the Motorcycle Federation of the Philippines. We envision a full-fledged rider of character imbued with discipline and lasting true friendship while preserving the essence of real bikers. We are serious riders. We do not just ride our bikes on weekends or wear our leathers as fashion statements. We seriously reflect the values of brotherhood/sisterhood, biker camaraderie, and supporting the larger biker community as well as our local communities. That mostly reflects the "Old School" part. At the same time, we are not interested in separatism in any way. We are not interested in playing into any of the divisions that have cropped up in the motorcycling and motorcycling club world over the years. We do not promote the idea that one bike brand, one gender, one race, or one biker "attitude" is better, more genuine, or is the more "real" expression of what a biker is. That mostly reflects the "New World" part. Reflecting the great diversity that exists in the worldwide motorcycling community is also a very important objective of the club. Toward this end, our club is open to male and female riders, riders of every ethnicity, riders of all brands of motorcycles, and people from many different walks of life and life experiences. Like the wolf packs found in nature, we strive to have members from a large age range and various generations as well. Our belief in having members from a large age range is not just a belief rooted in the idea that the young can learn from the older or that the young can provide fresh energy and enthusiasm. It is both of these ideas and more. It is also an idea rooted in the belief that we all can learn something from each other and contribute something to the growth of one another no matter what our age or the nature of our life experiences. We do not judge other clubs for any decisions they make. That’s not what we’re about. We respect all other clubs and their interests. We will strive to support as many clubs in the areas we have chapters as possible regardless of what part of the biker set they belong to. We will do this by attending as many club events, rallies and party are as we’re able to.

Who we are? United Rider Sport Bike Alliance (URSA), primarily is a collection of motorcycle enthusiasts having the same love and passion for riding our beloved bike. Sharing the same love for motorcycle riding and exchanging information about our beloved bikes. It all started with a meeting of minds online and then went on to meet face to face. The group started with about 11 members. Then as the sub 500cc gained popularity in the Philippines so did the people looking for information and sharing thoughts and ideas about the bike. Thus, the group was formed. Moving away from the norm, the group called itself United Rider Sport Bike Alliance (URSA), not wanting to be identified as another so-called “motorcycle club” but as a new breed of motorcycling enthusiasts that has a social responsibility and has rider safety always in mind. From humble beginnings, we will soon grow in numbers slowly but surely. Having members from in and around the different parts of provinces that make up the Greater Mindanao, from Zamboanga del Sur to Zamboanga del Norte to Zamboanga Sibugay to Misamis Oriental to Misamis Occidental and many other provinces URSA will continue to grow soon, not recruiting members but members initially finding their way to the group with the same passion we carry. Voluntarily committing themselves to URSA with the idea that; “With URSA, We care… We share… We are a family”. And just like the cartoon character Stitch said, “Ohana! Nobody is left behind or forgotten” that is how URSA treats each other, as family. As URSA, we also strive to be better examples to the community, responsible riders who always have safety in mind - not just for our own but for other road users as well. That is who we are.

What is "URSA"? Ursa Minor (Latin: "Lesser Bear", contrasting with Ursa Major), also known as the Little Bear, is a constellation in the Northern Sky. Like the Great Bear, the tail of the Little Bear may also be seen as the handle of a ladle, hence the North American name, Little Dipper: seven stars with four in its bowl-like its partner the Big Dipper. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd-century astronomer Ptolemy and remains one of the 88 modern constellations. Ursa Minor has traditionally been important for navigation, particularly by mariners, because of Polaris being the North Star. Polaris, the brightest star in the constellation, is a yellow-white supergiant and the brightest Cepheid variable star in the night sky, ranging from an apparent magnitude of 1.97 to 2.00. Beta Ursae Minoris, also known as Kochab, is an aging star that has swollen and cooled to become an orange giant with an apparent magnitude of 2.08, only slightly fainter than Polaris. Kochab and magnitude 3 Gamma Ursae Minoris have been called the "guardians of the pole star".[3] Planets have been detected orbiting four of the stars, including Kochab. The constellation also contains an isolated neutron star—Calvera—and H1504+65, the hottest white dwarf yet discovered, with a surface temperature of 200,000 K.
