KK Awards 2026 Empowering the Youth of Tandang Sora✨

The KK Awards was a remarkable celebration of transparency, leadership, and youth empowerment. The event opened with detailed transparency reports from each SK Kagawad, highlighting the accomplishments and initiatives of their respective committees. Attendees were also given an exciting preview of the SK’s future projects for 2026, reinforcing the commitment to continuous growth and service for the youth of Tandang Sora.

Adding warmth to the celebration was a free coffee booth enjoyed by participants, followed by an inspiring speech from our MCP that encouraged unity and active community involvement. A significant moment of the program was the introduction and oath-taking of the Batang Sora Leaders Chamber, marking a new chapter of leadership and dedication among our young leaders.

The KK Awarding Ceremony proudly recognized outstanding youth officers, with Jericho Hermogeno receiving the Most Active Community-Based President award and Althea De Lima honored as the Most Active Iskolar ni Sora Volunteer of the Year. The event also included the Iskolar ni Sora Orientation and Disbursement, reaffirming the SK’s unwavering support for student scholars.

the KK Awards was not just a celebration of achievements, but a testament to the passion, accountability, and excellence of the youth of Tandang Sora.

Introducing the Batang Sora Leaders’ Chamber — isang espasyo kung saan hinuhubog ang mga lider kabataan, pinapalakas ang boses ng kabataan, at ginagawang makabuluhan ang bawat ideya at desisyon para sa ikauunlad ng kumunidad.

💡 Dito, hindi ka lang manonood, KASAMA KA sa paggawa ng pagbabago.

✔️ Ages 18–30 (by calendar year 2026)
✔️ Bona fide resident of Barangay Tandang Sora
✔️ With a background or strong interest in leadership, community service, or volunteer work
✔️ Willing to join leadership trainings and development programs
✔️ Ready to actively participate in SK projects and initiatives

𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 214𝒕𝒉 𝑭𝒊𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂, 𝑻𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒐𝒓𝒂! 🎉

The Phil Youth Organization, specifically President Jericho Hermogeno, Vice President Jeffwell Abaya, Treasurer Angel Egaran, and members CK Miranda and Faith Moratilla, attended the fiesta last January 6, 2025 at 13e court of Tandang Sora.

But of course—hindi magpapahuli ang mga taga Philvirra pagdating sa pagbibida! Each of (4) officers won and brought Pamaskong Handog bags. 😜

The fiesta became memorable by the ones who colored the night, from the band and singers that rocked the place, and the stand up comedians that wrecked the audiences' lips from laughter.

It was indeed a surreal night—to watch the fireworks scattering from above. And everything felt magical—which wouldn't be possible without the Sangguniang Kabataan of Tandang Sora and the tax payers who made the event possible. 🎆

The time has come again... Happy Fiesta, Mary Mother of God Chapel! 🥳

On the 1st day of January, the Phil Youth Organization organized the fiesta in the Chapel, welcoming at least 30 kids participated and some of their parents and guardians.

The event started by the mixed energies of the hosts Vice President Jeffwell Abaya and Media Officer Althea De Lima. There were a lot of school supplies as prizes waiting for them that day as the games started.

The ending game, "pahabaan ng boses" involved of one winner for each mom/tita, kid, and a teenager. Truly grateful for the sponsors, a hundred was given to them, respectively. The morning program was wrapped up by giving food and drinks to the kids.

In the afternoon the procession went around the village and the last destination was the chapel itself, followed by the mass. It was a prosperous way to start the year and celebrate the fiesta at the same time!

We are truly grateful for each sponsor we've had! Without them, the event wouldn't be successful. For transparency, the audit report and the event recap will be presented during the Sunday mass.

ICYMI | 2025 Year-End Party

After a long time, the Phil Youth Organization finally grabbed the chance during a vacation to end the year along with the officers and members to celebrate the three awards they have bagged for the whole year!

The event was welcomed by a prayer, followed by interactive games such as 'love, joy, hope!', and Q&A challenged by the Sangguniang Kabataan of Tandang Sora. More than that, chikas and laughs were shared with the potluck food brought by everyone.

The most exciting part that day was---every officer and member were able to secure their spots on raffle! 🤩

The organization didn't forget joining the new exchange gift trend, wherein there is an assigned color for each person that will join, and everyone will have to receive each color from other as well. Literally bagged a lot of gifts!

We extend our heartfelt gratefulness to every member, officer, and SK officials who became pieces of the puzzle of the night.

ICYMI | Sangguniang Kabataan ng Tandang Sora Pamaskong Handog

The Phil Youth Organization extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Tandang Sora for the opportunity to be part of the Project FullBellies: Filling Hearts, One Plate at a Time – a Pamaskong Handog program, held last December 13, 2025, at the Barangay Tandang Sora Hall.

We commend SK Chairperson Julles Ivan T. Apo and SK Kagawad Renzo Ramos for their leadership and unwavering commitment to youth-centered service.

The organization was represented by Treas. Mary Angel Egaran, and members Erika Corpuz and Julian Moratilla.

Together, we remain united in serving the community. 🕊️

Last November 30, 2025, President Jericho Hermogeno participated in the said event as a representative of the Phil Youth Organization and took oath and pledge of commitment to strengthen the call for integrity and responsible leadership.

The short film fest served as an eye opener for the youth to call transparency and accountability for persons in power.

The organization's officer being all around-er, Media Officer Althea De Lima sparked the day more with her beaut and enthusiasm as she was invited to be the host for the event. ✨

May the films do not stay solely as a form of art, but rather we always instill in our minds that regardless of the mode of communication—everything is political.

QC LAYAG Year 2: Quezon City Leadership and Youth Advancement for Good Governance

On November 16, 2025, the Quezon City Youth Development Office successfully organized QC LAYAG Year 2, bringing together young people from the city’s six districts. Representing Phil Youth Organization were its officers—the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Media Team—who actively participated in the event’s learning and discussion sessions.

Participants strengthened their ability to create evidence-based programs and contribute meaningfully to local governance through workshops and talks on budgeting and planning, policymaking, and technical writing. The event also provided valuable opportunities for collaboration, idea-sharing, and the exploration of community-based solutions.

The sessions were made more meaningful through the insights shared by our speakers, Mr. Gabriel S. Tugbo of the Quezon City Youth Development Office and Mr. Adrian Louie Lopez, MPA of New Era University, whose expertise helped guide young leaders toward effective and inclusive governance.

Through initiatives like QC LAYAG, youth leaders continue to be empowered to lead with purpose and create lasting impact in their barangays.

Today, we celebrate the day of SK Chairman Ivan Julles Apo! A genuine leader who puts other people first before himself. His kind heart will always instill in the minds of our organization and the barangay for truly inspiring each of us.
