Today, a large number of Lisu are Christian due to missionary work in the 19th–20th centuries. In fact, the Lisu New Testament was one of the earliest Bible translations into a minority language in China. The Lisu are sometimes called the “singing Christians” because of their rich tradition of hymn singing. “When we sing to the Lord, we join the eternal song of creation itself.” -Lisu

Psalm 96:1–2
“Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.”

Pray that more and more Lisu will come and worship the Lord.

Missionaries need holidays too.
OMF workers in the Philippines use our guest home as accommodation for meetings and retreats. Short-term workers are serving at the guest home this month and next - please pray for them in this important ministry, that their hospitality would bring refreshment and rest for long-term workers.

'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.' (Matthew 11:28)
