On August 11, SKEP officers gathered to review upcoming events, discuss priorities, and address other important matters. We then shared updates, assigned tasks, and set clear next steps to keep things on track.

• Upcoming events and activities are scheduled for the coming months.
• Several income-generating initiatives are being developed to support SKEP.
• Branding and communications efforts are in progress, including a proposed logo and a potential podcast.
• Volunteer coordination is required for community service and the ECP 125th Anniversary in October.
• Performance planning and event logistics are underway for Talents Night and Big Night.

Hands-on learning, hands-on culture. 🖐🏽✨

On August 9, as part of our commemoration of the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, a Lumad Beadmaking Workshop was held at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Mary and St. John.

Led by Mrs. Julieta Gomez of KATRIBU, members of SKEP-ECSMSJ, Siklab Philippine Indigenous Youth Network, and the congregation gathered to learn beadmaking while listening to stories about the tradition. It was a humble opportunity for the youth to connect with Indigenous knowledge and explore their creativity.

Culture lives when we learn it, share it, and pass it on. 🌿

A commemoration of the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples was held on August 9, 2026, at the Cathedral Hall of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Mary and St. John, with attendees and participants gathering to mark the occasion.

The program was led by the Siklab Philippine Indigenous Youth Network, with snacks provided by the Asia Young Peoples Indigenous Youth Network.

Thank you to our guest speaker, the Sec-Gen of Katribu Kalipunan ng Katutubong Mamamayan ng Pilipinas, who highlighted various issues faced by the Indigenous Peoples today. And thank you to the congregation for joining our community dance!

Sama-sama nating pinatunayan: makatarungan ang ating paglaban—ipagtanggol ang lupang ninuno, igiit ang karapatan at sariling pagpapasya.

Hindi tayo susuko. Patuloy ang laban para sa ating mga lupain, kultura, at kinabukasan.

Skep Band, with Padi Dexter Tad-awan, performed heartfelt versions of “Auld Lang Syne” and “One Friend,” filling the afternoon with music, memories, and warm smiles.
