Iris is an alumna of UP Student Catholic Action (UPSCA). She is a Teaching Associate who is pursuing her MA in History at UP Diliman.

Professor Bantang is the current Dean of the College of Home Economics and an active member of the Lectors and Commentators Ministry at the Parish of the Holy Sacrifice.

IN PHOTOS | Last night, the parish celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit traditionally held at the start of each academic year as the university welcomes a new batch of students and hopeful dreamers to the campus. Residents, students, faculty, and staff participated in the Mass presided by our Parish Priest, Fr. Nelson Orqueta, to ask for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to pour down upon the university community.

With love, faith, and dreams in the hearts of each Iskolar ng Bayan and university personnel, may the Holy Spirit guide the university's constituents through another fruitful year ahead.

In thanksgiving for their academic achievements, the UP community gathered for the celebration of the Holy Mass this Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Parish of the Holy Sacrifice. They were joined by family members, friends, professors, and parishioners.

The Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jose Paulo "Cholo" Luistro of the Opus Dei. He is a graduate of BA Psychology, Class of 2012.

In his homily, Fr. Cholo shared how he got to discover more about his priestly vocation during his stay in UP. He shared about how he had acquired the habit of going todaily mass to spend more time with the Lord.

He also shared about how vocation is not simply limited to priestly or religious life. He mentioned that all our gifts and talents are given by God and are to be offered back to Him.

"That we have received much brings us to consider that God has a plan for each and everyone one of us...God speaks through the gifts we have received," Fr. Cholo preached.

The graduates were also given sunflowers as a congratulatory gift. We thank all our generous sponsors for making this possible.
