With COMELEC expressing similar concerns over flood-prone polling sites, the brief underscores the importance of early contingency planning and coordination among COMELEC, disaster response agencies, and security forces to help ensure the continuity of the electoral process. If a natural calamity makes it necessary to postpone the election, COMELEC must ensure that the electoral process remains transparent and credible.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is closely monitoring flood-prone schools that will serve as polling sites for the first parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), amid concerns that heavy rains could disrupt voting.
