Since the time the youth of OLAP decided to take part in the church’s young ministry, the founding members of the Chorus were in the forefront of the endeavor. The group was under the newly created Music Ministry of OLAP and actively participated in the church’s undertakings, particularly in serving during masses for the youth which was, even during that time, was already at 6 in the evening every
Sunday, the current mass schedule of the Chorus. But as years passed, the Youth Choir was never exempted from change. Members come and go and the group saw the leadership of the parish passed on. And since most of its members have matured in age, they felt that the name “Youth Choir” was not anymore appropriate. Thus in October of 2006, the choir was renamed and is now known as the Cecilian Chorus. With its new name, not only can the group be open to all ages, but also, it can bring the ministry more closer to the reach of many of those who share the same desire of serving God through their talents. Cecilia, the patron saint of music, her never ending devotion to the Lord serves as the inspiration of its members to hone their craft for the glory and honor of His Name.
