With Dr. Clarita Carlos here is a French space scientist working on the INTERNATIONAL CHARTER SPACE AND MAJOR DISASTERS...

The moment a big disaster occurs, this group of scientists will train their satellites in that area and link up with the relevant disaster related agencies in these countries so data sharing will happen that will help these countries...

He has solicited the help of the Asia Pacific Institute for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation (APICCMAFI) & StratSearch Foundation, Inc., both headed by Dr Carlos, to establish these linkages thru NGOs...

The initial linkage has been done here and the hard work follows when we go back to Manila...

There is no doubt that the consequences of Climate Change are upon us.

There is, therefore, an urgent need to design MITIGATION and ADAPTATION strategies pro actively so we are not again surprised when those consequences impact our daily lives...

For example, scientists should already be modeling or simulating different scenarios to identify the extent of damage that will affect livestock, crops, energy and water sources, among others...

We have established the Asia Pacific Institute for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation (APICCMAFI) to help raise the level of knowledge about these concerns.

We expect to help design instructional materials across all age groups as well as design training programs for various sectors to help identify and implement ways of mitigating and adapting to consequences of climate change...

Our planning platform should no longer be local nor national but should be REGIONAL and INTERNATIONAL...

After all, all these changes cross artificial boundaries of the nation state or boundaries arising from the specific topography of places...

After all, we are living in just one planet with just one atmosphere, one water and one land...

Thus, no less than a collective stance and undertaking are required!
