(FPOWF) is a non-profit, non-government organization dedicated to the service of Filipinos working overseas and their families left behind in the country. FPOWF was founded in 1984 by returning OFWs themselves who saw the need to provide services that would facilitate the better assimilation of workers in their host country. The Foundation implement programs and conduct activities that would addre

ss human trafficking through capacity building of Filipinos OFWs and information campaign against illegal recruitment. During the 1992 Presidential Elections campaign, FPOWFI saw the need for the inclusion of an agenda that will address the need of the growing number of Filipinos working overseas. The Foundation conducted intensive advocacy activity to influence the adaptation of an OFW Agenda in the platform of government of the different Presidential candidates which resulted in a covenant signed by then candidate Fidel V. Ramos who eventually won the 1992 Presidential elections. The covenant was eventually translated into the Ramos Administration’s OFW Program.
