Just when you think that everyone in UP lives pretty much the same life, you find yourself reading this. The Oblation is a constant reminder of what’s expected of you. You‘re supposed to study hard, earn a degree, and offer your whole self to serve the country with honor and excellence. UP’s culture teaches you how to do it. But what teaches you why you should do it? When UP feeds your mind with t

he facts and your hands with the skills, what feeds your soul? It’s our soul that begs answers to questions of meaning, of identity, of values and morality. And these questions seem best answered by sacred tradition and spirituality. These questions, when answered, spell all the difference in your experience of UP. The Campus Ministry Office seeks to share in the University’s mission of “shaping minds that shape the nation” by complementing its academic environment with programs that nurture an understanding of the Faith, a knowledge of Catholic Identity, and a spirituality that inspires commitment to service and social justice. Just when you think there’s not much else to experience, you should know that looking up to who’s up there makes much of a difference.

Heavenly Father, I lift up to you today my mother and all mothers. Bless them with strength to continue to care for their children, with the same bold selflessness Mary showed Jesus.

When our mothers are tired, Lord, give them strength. When they feel alone, give them comfort. When they feel overwhelmed with the challenges of parenting, help them to know peace. In their darkest moments, be their Light. At times in our lives, our mothers are everything to us, meeting our every need. We ask You to provide them today with whatever gift they need.

Help my mother and all mothers feel our gratitude and truly know their impact. May we honor them today and on all days as vessels of Your love. In Your name, I pray. Amen.

𝗛𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗠𝗨𝗦 𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗠!

Let us pray for our new Holy Father, 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗼 𝗫𝗜𝗩, as he takes on the responsibilities of the Papal Office as the 266th successor of St. Peter. May our Heavenly Father grant him the wisdom, faith, and strength he needs to lead the Universal Church and to serve as a beacon of Christ’s light in a world longing for truth, mercy, and compassion, through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
