Read With Us Celebrates National Children’s Book Day!

IBBY Philippines, UNESCO-Philippine National Commission, SM Cares, Book Nook, and Quezon City Public Library celebrated National Children’s Book Day with a joyful Read With Us storytelling session today, July 25, 2026 at Book Nook, SM North EDSA.

Children from Barangay Masambong, Quezon City, participated in the event, filling the space with excitement and curiosity as they listened to stories come alive.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Barangay Captain Rocky G. Alpa of Barangay Masambong, Quezon City, and to Jenny Adajo of the Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) for their invaluable support in making this event possible.

Special thanks as well to our wonderful storytellers: Dez Macasaet Orpiano of QCPL, who read “Piyesta sa Hardin ni Lola Benita,” written by Eugene Evasco, illustrated by Tokwa Peñaflorida, and published by Chikiting Books; and Lauren Joy Arcos of Vibal Group, who read Saan-saan, a story by Rey Bufi, written by Russel Molina, illustrated by Ang Ink, and published by Bahaginan Publishing House, for their engaging storytelling.

As we celebrate National Children’s Book Day, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to discover the joy of books and the transformative power of stories.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this celebration meaningful and for bringing books and children together.
