UBAS Good Practices of Brgy. 187 & 188 of Tala, Caloocan City

The spirit of volunteerism and solidarity amongst the government, the church and the community is best exemplified in Barangays 187 and 188 in Tala, Caloocan, a model Barangay Action Team of the Ugnayan ng Barangay at Simbahan (UBAS).

The UBAS in Tala, Caloocan started through the initiative of the Parish Pastoral Council by creating a partnership between the 2 barangays aimed at solving local issues of the community. The secret to its success lies in its diversified membership. It includes not only the key pillars of the Ugnayan: the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Barangay and interfaith churches composed of the Catholic Church, Muslim community, United Methodist Church, Christian Baptist Church and Iglesia ni Cristo, but also other sectors, such as the academe, health, transportation, the police, among others.
