Haribon joined the 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆: 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 on July 1, 2026, organized by the 𝗙𝗘𝗨 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗣.

We connected with students and fellow advocates to highlight how 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, from forests and mangroves to watersheds that help lessen the impacts of floods, landslides, and extreme weather.

You'll support community organizing, capacity-building, participatory planning, and inclusive natural resource governance to help communities protect biodiversity while building climate resilience.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿:
✔️ Degree in Community Development, Social Work, Environmental Science, Forestry, Gender Studies, or a related field
✔️ Experience in community organizing, participatory planning, and working with People's Organizations and LGUs
✔️ Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
✔️ Willingness to work in remote communities in San Remigio and Sibalom, Antique

🍃 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴.

This 𝗗𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, we celebrate the collective efforts of local communities and government units in protecting the forest watersheds of Panay, home of the Dulungan or the Rufous-headed Hornbill.

The species' downlisting from 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 on the IUCN Red List last year shows what strong partnerships can achieve 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Our Safeguarding Central Panay Mountains (CPM) project aims to partner with Indigenous Peoples & Local Communities (IPLCs), local government, and the public to conserve CPM for the long term. The CPM project is made possible thanks to Rainforest Trust and BirdLife International.
