Representatives from various municipal and provincial government agencies are gathered today in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, for the first day of the Training Workshop on the formulation of the Provincial Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) Plan.

Spearheaded by the Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) through its 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲, implemented in partnership with the COAST Facility Philippines, together with the Provincial Government of Zamboanga Sibugay, the workshop aims to develop an integrated plan that will help protect, conserve, and sustainably manage the province’s marine and coastal resources, particularly within the Sibugay Nature Wetland Reserve.

The activity brings together key stakeholders from the province's District 2 municipalities, including DENR Zamboanga Peninsula, Denr Penro Zamboanga Sibugay, Municipal Agriculture Offices, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Offices, Sangguniang Bayan Committees on Environment, Fishery Offices, Municipal Planning and Development Offices, Rare Philippines, and MSU Naawan Campus.

Another workshop for District 1 municipalities will be held on August 28-29, 2026.

Through collaboration and shared expertise, the workshop seeks to strengthen coordinated coastal governance and build a more resilient and sustainable future for Zamboanga Sibugay’s coastal communities and ecosystems.

The Municipal Planning and Development Office - Libmanan, and the Municipal Agriculture Office of Libmanan, in partnership with the Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF), conducted a two-day Municipal Rice Industry Roadmap Workshop to develop strategies and initiatives to make the municipality's rice value chain more competitive.

Representatives from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), DA-PHilMech, the DA-PhilRice, Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Agriculture-Bicol, LANDBANK, and the Agricultural Credit Policy Council, and Libmanan farmers and irrigators cooperatives shared their ongoing programs and support initiatives with key stakeholders in the municipality.

PEF has been working closely with the Libmanan LGU and partner organizations, including the Oragon Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, to enhance rice productivity and reduce production costs for farmers in Libmanan.

The Zero Poverty PH 2030 (ZeP2030) Livelihood Cluster, led by the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. - FSSI and the Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) successfully conducted a Learning Session featuring Department of Agriculture - Philippines Undersecretary for Policy, Planning and Regulations Atty. Asis Perez.

During the session, Undersecretary Perez provided an overview of the current state of Philippine agriculture, the Department's priorities and goals for the sector, and the various programs and services available to farmers, fisherfolk, cooperatives, and community organizations.
The activity brought together 415 participants from 229 organizations, including civil society organizations, local convergence partners, and farmer groups committed to advancing sustainable livelihoods and reducing poverty.

Usec. Perez also addressed participants' questions and concerns regarding access to various DA programs and services. He provided clarifications on program requirements and procedures and facilitated connections with relevant DA offices to support the next steps in addressing their needs.
Through learning sessions such as this, ZeP2030 continues to cultivate partnerships, expand knowledge-sharing, and connect communities with opportunities that can help improve incomes and build resilient livelihoods.

The Zero Poverty PH 2030 (ZeP2030) Livelihood Cluster, led by the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. - FSSI and the Peace and Equity Foundation, successfully conducted a Learning Session featuring Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary for Policy, Planning and Regulations Atty. Asis Perez.

During the session, Undersecretary Perez provided an overview of the current state of Philippine agriculture, the Department's priorities and goals for the sector, and the various programs and services available to farmers, fisherfolk, cooperatives, and community organizations.

The activity brought together 415 participants from 229 organizations, including civil society organizations, local convergence partners, and farmer groups committed to advancing sustainable livelihoods and reducing poverty.

Usec. Perez also addressed participants' questions and concerns regarding access to various DA programs and services. He provided clarifications on program requirements and procedures and facilitated connections with relevant DA offices to support the next steps in addressing their needs.

Through learning sessions such as this, ZeP2030 continues to cultivate partnerships, expand knowledge-sharing, and connect communities with opportunities that can help improve incomes and build resilient livelihoods.
