🆎️ Anvil Exchange Forum: Integrity in Leadership with Hon. Benjamin Magalong
🗓 March 23, 2026
📍 Manila Golf and Country Club
Anvil held an engaging and insightful Exchange Forum with the
Honorable Benjie Magalong - Public Servant (3-term Mayor of Baguio City), centered on the theme of integrity in leadership.
The discussion began with Baguio’s vision of becoming a more livable, inclusive, and well-managed city—driven by science-based decision-making, smart city systems, and stronger public-private partnerships. Key initiatives such as urban mobility, infrastructure development, and community-focused projects highlighted how long-term planning and ex*****on come together in practice.
As the conversation progressed, Mayor Magalong shared his experience with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), offering a candid look into systemic gaps and inconsistencies in public projects, and the importance of transparency and accountability in addressing them.
More importantly, the session brought the focus back to leadership—not just in title, but in action. From engaging early in planning, to standing firm on principles, to building accountability across systems, the message was clear: leadership today requires both competence and character.
At a time when trust in institutions can sometimes be challenged, conversations like this serve as an important reminder that integrity is not optional—it is foundational.
Congratulations to the team led by VP Jeffrey Lim, together with Directors Roderick Ko, Ryan Chua, Jan Derrick Ong, Project Head Joanne Tan, Host Renz Morco, and Moderators VC Hubert Henry Chua and Moises Limyuen, for organizing a meaningful and well-executed forum.
We also extend our thanks to Chairman Emeritus George Siy for inviting Mayor Magalong, and to Honorary Chariman Jeffrey Ng for hosting us once again at Manila Golf and Country Club.
We hope our members were able to take away valuable insights—not just in leadership, but in how we approach our own roles—with greater clarity, accountability, and a stronger sense of purpose.
Because at the end of the day, leadership is not defined by position, but by the standards we choose to uphold.
