TUCP JOINS AFL-CIO 30TH CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION ✊🌎

The TUCP delegation joined the 30th AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota, alongside trade union leaders representing millions of workers across the United States and around the world. TUCP extends its congratulations to AFL-CIO President Elizabeth "Liz" Shuler on her re-election and expressesits sincere appreciation to her together with Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond and International Director Cathy Feingold, as well as to the AFL-CIO for the opportunity to participate in its 30th Constitutional Convention. We stand in solidarity with the AFL-CIO and admire its long-standing commitment to advancing workers' rights & strengthening unions.

During the convention, TUCP shared the realities facing Filipino workers, including stagnant wages, widespread contractualization, declining union density, and the urgent need to strengthen freedom of association and collective bargaining rights.

As the country's largest labor center, TUCP remains committed to building stronger international labor solidarity and working with trade unions worldwide to advance decent work, social justice, and dignity for all workers.

Matapos ang magnitude 7.8 na lindol na tumama sa offshore Sarangani ngayong Lunes ng umaga, nagdulot ito ng pinsala sa ilang gusali, pagkaantala ng serbisyo ng kuryente at tubig sa ilang bahagi ng Mindanao, at pagsuspinde ng klase at trabaho sa ilang lugar sa unang araw ng pasukan.

⚠️ BABALA: Posible pa rin ang mga aftershocks, kaya manatiling alerto at umiwas sa mga nasirang istruktura o lugar na maaaring mag-collapse.

👉 Tandaan: Sa ilalim ng RA 11058, may karapatan ang mga manggagawa na tumangging magtrabaho kung may agarang panganib sa kanilang buhay at kalusugan. Unahin ang inyong kaligtasan.

🔔 Ayon sa DOLE Labor Advisory No. 17-22, maaaring suspendihin ang trabaho sa pribadong sektor sa panahon ng kalamidad o mapanganib na kondisyon upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng lahat ng manggagawa.

WINNING BETTER PAY, SAFER WORK CONDITIONS, EMPLOYER TRUST THROUGH EFFECTIVE NEGOTIATIONS 🤝🏻

Sis. Elizabeth P. Gomez recently completed the program, “Negotiation Skills for Effective Collective Bargaining,” at the International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin, Italy 🇮🇹, 25–29 May 2026. Sis. Beth is the President of the Mitsumi Philippines Employees Union-ALU.

Through a fellowship grant from the Government of Canada, Sis. Beth learned about different negotiation styles, interest-based or principled negotiation, and various listening skills. These competencies will help strengthen the union's capacity to negotiate for better pay, safer work environment, and improved labor-management relations.

ISANG TAON NG PAGLILINGKOD, PAGKILOS, AT PAGTATAGUYOD NG KARAPATAN NG MANGGAGAWA NGAYONG 20TH CONGRESS✊🇵🇭

Sa pagtatapos ng Unang Regular na Sesyon ng Ika-20 Kongreso, ibinabahagi ng TUCP Party-list ang mga panukalang batas na inihain sa loob ng unang 365 araw nito sa Kongreso.

Mula sa makatarungang sahod at tax relief, hanggang sa proteksyon ng mga manggagawa, healthcare workers, seafarers, waste workers, at iba pang sektor, patuloy nating isinusulong ang mga batas na magbibigay ng ginhawa at mas magandang kinabukasan para sa mga manggagawang Pilipino.

Hindi nagtatapos sa sesyon ang ating laban. Tuloy-tuloy ang trabaho ng TUCP Party-list para sa manggagawa, kanilang pamilya, at sa sambayanang Pilipino.

TUCP COMMENDS CONG. RUFUS RODRIGUEZ FOR RECOGNIZING JWAP AND CEBU PACIFIC WORKERS IN FRANCHISE RENEWAL ✈️

The TUCP expresses its appreciation to Cong. Rufus Rodriguez, Representative of the 2nd District of Cagayan de Oro, for delivering the manifestation on behalf of our TUCP Party-list Representative and Deputy Speaker Raymond Democrito Mendoza during the hearing on the franchise renewal of Cebu Pacific.

In his statement, he recognized the 1,700-strong Juan Wing Association of the Philippines (JWAP-ALU-TUCP), led by Union President Alexander Rañeses, as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for Cebu Pacific cabin crew under the Associated Labor Unions (ALU) and an affiliate of TUCP.

He also highlighted Cebu Pacific as a symbol of affordable air travel that connects Filipinos to opportunities, families, and destinations worldwide, and acknowledged that its success is built not only on sound management but also on the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifices of its workers from cabin crew and pilots to ground personnel and support staff.

Thank you, Cong. Rodriguez, for standing with workers and recognizing their vital contribution to the aviation industry.

TUCP NANANAWAGAN NG AGARANG AKSYON SA SAHOD, ENDO, AT SEGURIDAD SA TRABAHO

Kasabay ng pagtanggap ng labor sector kay Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Acting Secretary Francis “Tol” Tolentino, umaasa ang TUCP na magiging bukas din siya sa mga repormang matagal nang isinusulong ng mga manggagawa, kabilang ang ₱200 legislated wage hike, security of tenure, at pagwawakas sa mga abusadong anyo ng contractualization.

Binigyang-diin din ng TUCP ang kahalagahan ng pakikipagdayalogo sa mga labor sector upang matugunan ang tunay na kalagayan at pangangailangan ng mga manggagawang Pilipino.
