Batch LANGGA completed SALIGAN's 2026 Internship Program. Seven law students from the Angeles University Foundation, Ateneo de Naga University, University of Nueva Caceres, and Ateneo de Davao University chose to spend their summer break immersed in alternative lawyering practice—engaging with communities, supporting legal work, and reflecting on the role of law in social change. SALIGAN participated in the Extraterritorial Obligations (ETO) Consortium Global Congress in Bangkok, Thailand on September 2-5, 2026, with the theme: "Human Rights Beyond Borders: Advancing Extraterritorial Obligations in a Time of Global Crises." The Congress discussed experiences, perspectives, and challenges from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA), and Europe. The Congress ended with a concrete plan in pushing for a UN Binding Treaty on Business and Human Rights and Extraterritorial Obligations in the next two years.

SALIGAN is the only Philippine member of the ETOC and the only delegate from the Philippines. SALIGAN has been participating in the ETOC Biennial Congress since 2012.

SALIGAN (Sentro ng Alternatibong Lingap Panlegal, Inc.) is looking for a Communications Officer to implement our project’s communication and advocacy objectives for a 15-month engagement based in our head office in Quezon City.

✊ Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Communication, Journalism, Mass Communication, Communications Arts, or related fields.
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience in development communications, digital media or advocacy, or publication work.
- Strong writing and editing skills in English and Filipino.
- Working knowledge of website management, graphic layout, and social media analytics.

SALIGAN kicked-off its RAINBOW Paralegal Formation Program with the Basic Training Session on August 25-27, 2026. 23 LGBTQIA+ persons from the workers sector, the urban poor, youth, women, and advocates, will complete the intensive program in 2027. The participants are from Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Naga City, and Cebu City. The Gender Rights and Equality Advocacy Team (GREAT) was also reconvened.
