On May 21, 28, June 4, 11, and 18, 2026, the LINK Center for the Deaf, Inc., successfully conducted the Learning, INclusion, and Knowledge (LINK) for All: Training of Trainers (ToT) Program, a five-part webinar series that brought together local government representatives from Carmona, Silang, and General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite (CARSIGMA). Participants represented the Barangay Committees on Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from Barangays 3, 4, 5, 7-14. The training also welcomed representatives from the Mayorโ€™s Office (M.O.), City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD), City Health Office (CHO), Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), Peace and Order Council (PBC), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and various non-government organizations (NGOs). United by a common goalโ€”to build more inclusive, accessible, and empowered communities.

Throughout the five sessions, participants deepened their understanding of Disability Concepts and Frameworks, Inclusive Language, Identifying Barriers and Enablers in the Community, Visual and Inclusive Communication, Deaf Sensitivity, and Inclusive Governance and Representation. More than expanding their knowledge, they strengthened their capacity to become champions of disability inclusion and advocates for meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in their workplaces and communities.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated resource speakers, facilitators, voice interpreters, and every participant whose active engagement made each session a rich learning experience. Your willingness to learn, reflect, and take action is a testament to the growing movement toward a more inclusive society.

As we conclude this training, we hope that the lessons learned will continue to inspire meaningful action. May each participant carry forward the principles of inclusion, ensuring that every individualโ€”regardless of abilityโ€”is valued, heard, and given equal opportunities to participate and thrive.

Together, let us continue creating communities where inclusion is not just a goal, but a way of life.

On May 23, 30, June 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2026, the LINK Center for the Deaf, Inc. successfully conducted the Online Teacher Enhancement Program (OTEP) 2026, a six-part webinar series dedicated to strengthening the knowledge and competencies of educators in delivering quality inclusive education.

The program brought together teachers from the Quezon City Schools Division Office (QC SDO), Saint Tonis School and other educational institutions in the Cordillera Region, alongside PDAO personnel from Quezon City and Carmona, creating a collaborative learning community committed to ensuring that every learner has access to equitable and meaningful educational opportunities.

Throughout the six sessions, participants explored key topics in inclusive education, including Behavior Management and Modification, Educational Assessment for Learners with Special Needs, Adaptive STEM Instruction through the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) Framework, Transition Education for Learners with Disabilities, and the Development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Each webinar equipped participants with practical strategies, evidence-based approaches, and learner-centered practices that they can immediately apply in their classrooms and communities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our distinguished resource speakers, partner institutions, facilitators, and every participant whose passion for learning and commitment to inclusion made OTEP 2026 a meaningful success. Your dedication reflects a shared vision of creating schools where diversity is embraced, every learner is supported, and every teacher is empowered to make a lasting difference.

As OTEP 2026 comes to a close, we look forward to seeing these learnings translated into classrooms, schools, and communities where inclusion is not merely practicedโ€”but lived every day.

On April 18, 25, and May 9, 2026, the LINK Center for the Deaf, Inc. successfully conducted Resume Writing Workshops under its Work Readiness Program, bringing together three batches of 24 Deaf beneficiaries in preparation for meaningful employment opportunities.

Designed to equip participants with one of the most essential job-seeking skills, Sir Allan Paul Romero Tang guided beneficiaries through the process of creating professional resumes that effectively showcase their education, skills, experiences, and strengths. Through hands-on activities, personalized coaching, and practical feedback, participants gained the confidence to present themselves with clarity and professionalism to prospective employers.

For many of the beneficiaries, this was their first experience writing a resume. While the process came with challenges, particularly in organizing ideas and expressing their experiences in writing, each workshop became a space for learning, encouragement, and growth. With the support of Sir Apol, participants discovered that every skill learned, every experience gained, and every achievement earned has value and deserves to be recognized.

The Resume Writing Workshops served as more than a technical trainingโ€”they became an opportunity for Deaf job seekers to believe in their own potential and prepare for the next step in their employment journey. As they continue to build their skills through the Work Readiness Program, they move closer to achieving meaningful employment, greater independence, and brighter futures.

This initiative is part of the LINK Center's Inclusive Employment Program, made possible through the generous support of BOEING. Through this partnership, Deaf individuals are equipped not only with job-ready skills but also with opportunities to pursue inclusive careers and greater independence.

Together, we continue building pathways to meaningful employment and creating a future where Deaf individuals are empowered to thrive.

On July 14, 2026, the LINK Center for the Deaf, Inc. and Rizal Technological University (RTU) officially strengthened their shared commitment to inclusion and community empowerment through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Representatives from both parties are LINK Center Executive Director Ms. Carolyn Ui and Managing Director Ms. Marical Ui, while Dr. Magno M. Quendangan, Vice President for Research, Innovation and Extension Services, and Instr. Shereen Yanna B. Cadileรฑa, Director of the Gender Studies and Development Office, signed on behalf of Rizal Technological University.

This partnership marks the beginning of meaningful collaboration in instruction, research, faculty development, industry engagement, and community extension, creating opportunities to advance inclusive education and promote greater participation of Deaf individuals in society.

Together, LINK Center and RTU envision a future where knowledge, innovation, and collaboration open more doors for the Deaf community. Through this partnership, we continue to build bridges between academia and the communityโ€”working hand in hand toward a society where accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities become a reality for all.

We're truly excited about the many initiatives this partnership will bring to life and the meaningful impact it will have. We can't wait to see the positive changes unfolding from our collaboration.

In a meaningful step toward inclusive community development, LINK Center for the Deaf, Inc., through the coordination of PDAO Head Ms. Virgie Montilla, met with Mayor Johnielle Keith โ€œKitโ€ Pasion Nieto of Cainta, Rizal to explore collaborative opportunities that empower the Deaf community.

The meeting centered on advancing inclusive employment and professional growth, with a key focus on upskilling educators through a micro-credentialing program for both General Education and Special Education (SPED) teachers. In support of long-term impact, Mayor Kit expressed strong interest in exploring the potential integration of this initiative in One Cainta College. LINK Center will meet with the Dean of One Cainta College to further discuss the implementation and next steps of the initiative.

Adding an inspiring vision to the conversation, LINK Centerโ€™s Executive Director, Ms. Carolyn Ui, highlighted the broader goal of advancing inclusive employment opportunities for Deaf individuals within the local community. As one possible model, she introduced the concept of a coffee shop operated by both Deaf and hearing individuals as a space that can promote inclusive employment and foster a culture of inclusion. Mayor Kit responded positively to the idea and expressed interest in exploring its potential within the municipal compound. The initiative may be pursued as a collaborative effort, with the LGU potentially supporting infrastructure and LINK Center mobilizing a team of Deaf and hearing staff.

More than a meeting, this engagement reflects a shared vision of a community where opportunities are accessible to all. With strong partnerships and purposeful action, LINK and the Municipality of Cainta move closer to creating a more inclusive, empowered, and connected future for every Cainteรฑo.

On March 13, the LINK Center team had the exciting opportunity to explore a potential partnership with AC Hotels by Marriott in Ortigas! Our team, led by Executive Director Ms. Carol, Program Coordinator Ms. Ritz, and Admin Staff Ms. Tin, set out to dive into the hotelโ€™s operational workflows. We aimed to uncover potential employment partnerships that could benefit the Deaf community.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by Ms. Katelyn from the Human Resources team, who guided us on a delightful tour of the property. As the tour continued, Ms. Patty joined in, sharing her valuable insights and adding to our experience.

During the tour, we engaged in significant discussions about collaboration opportunities to expand employment pathways for Deaf individuals and identified several roles within the hotel where Deaf professionals could excel. We also explored the potential for a joint Deaf Awareness Sensitivity Training program, the importance of providing interpreters during the application process, and the introduction of basic sign language training for AC Hotels staff to support inclusive service delivery.

We hope for a fruitful outcome of the partnership exploration between the LINK Center and AC Hotels and look forward to continued dialogue and collaboration.
