๐ŸŒพ Under the SHARPER 2 Project, a total of 594 farmers and fisherfolk from partner communities in the municipalities of Balangiga, Lawaan, Quinapondan, and Salcedo, Eastern Samar, received agricultural input assistance. The distributed items included farming tools, fertilizers, vegetable seeds, and fishing tools such as nylon, nets, hooks, and ice boxes. These inputs were carefully identified based on a needs assessment conducted before distribution, ensuring that the support provided was relevant, timely, and responsive to the actual needs of the beneficiaries.

๐Ÿ“„Beyond agricultural support, all beneficiaries were also enrolled in Accident and Life Insurance through PCIC, while fisherfolk additionally received boat insurance, providing an added layer of protection and security for their livelihood assets.

๐ŸคThis meaningful activity was made possible through the strong collaboration between the Municipal Agriculture Office and the Barangay LGUs, this effort reflects our shared commitment to uplift and support our grassroots communities.

The Sharper 2 Project was supported by Oxfam Pilipinas and was implemented by the Center for Disaster Preparedness Foundation.

๐Ÿ‘ฅThe Community Led Innovation Partnership (CLIP) programme has shown what becomes possible when locally led innovation is matched with trust-based grant-making and long-term support.

๐Ÿ“’As part of its legacy, the new CLIP Guidelines document has been developed to share the key elements that contributed to the programmeโ€™s success and to support others interested in applying this approach in their own work.

๐Ÿ’ฌBe part of the conversation on how these lessons can be carried forward and how you can become part of the growing CLIP movement, where we will also be launching the guidelines.

Kapag nagkukulang ang pamahalaan, madalas ang mga komunidad ang gumagawa ng paraan para punan ang mga pangangailangan ng mga grupong nasa laylayan ng lipunan.

On February 26, 2026, representatives from CDP Foundation, YoungBEAN, and ASB conducted a field visit to the Pioneer for a Green Future: Green Income Prospects for Marginalised Young People (GreenPRO) Project sites in Balanga and Limay.

During the visit, the team met with local government units (LGUs) in Lamao and Tortugas to discuss ongoing initiatives and opportunities for youth-led green enterprises. They also explored high-risk areas in Barrio Putol, Lamao, as well as the Balanga Wetland and Nature Park, observing firsthand the environmental and social contexts in which the project operates.

The visit highlighted both the challenges and potential opportunities for supporting marginalized young people in building sustainable livelihoods and contributing to climate resilience in their communities.
