Last June and July, Oxfam Pilipinas joined the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre's (BHRC) CSO Learning Exchanges on Just Transition in Manila and Tokyo.

Civil society groups from the Philippines, Indonesia, US, EU, Japan, and Korea came together to discuss how we can address human rights concerns across electric vehicle (EV) and renewable energy supply chains.

We explored inequalities in global supply chains and identified opportunities for collective action to strengthen corporate accountability, transparency, and natural resource governance.

This , we honor the remarkable individuals at the heart of our every humanitarian response. Their strength in the face of disasters transforms hardship into determination, motivating us all to do more.

Meet Jhie Durana, a resident of Samar, Philippines and humanitarian portfolio officer of Oxfam Pilipinas. A survivor of Typhoon Hagupit (local name: Ruby), she started as a volunteer before becoming a staff member in 2015. She has since led quick assessments and responses from as far as Calayan in Babuyan Islands, Cagayan, to Sarangani, Mindanao.

Disasters and challenges may persist, but our commitment to innovation and collaboration with local partners, government, and stakeholders remains unwavering. Together, we can respond to peoples’ urgent needs and work to prevent future crises, so we come closer to building a just and equal future for all.
