It was a truly inspiring and productive session at !
Reflecting on a productive and inspiring session at ! It has been a pleasure to facilitate the roundtable "Building Shared Community Network Ecosystems: From Local Practices to Collective Infrastructure," where we explored the evolution of community-led connectivity into vital shared infrastructure for our movement.
Key takeaways from our session:
- Infrastructure Beyond Hardware: Sustainable community networks require more than just technical setup; they rely on shared resources, collective knowledge systems, and locally grounded approaches.
- Collaborative Learning: There is a clear need for modular curricula and knowledge-sharing platforms to support peer learning and replication of successful practices across different regional contexts.
- Scaling for Resilience: Moving forward, our focus is on building practical, co-created pathways—including social enterprise practices—that position community networks as a resilient, collaborative part of our digital rights infrastructure.
A big thank you to our presenters Akhmat Safrudin (APC-LocNet), Gomer Padong (ISEA), Tisha Amelia Anwar (Common Room Foundation), and Carla Santos (PRRM), to our moderators Catherine Tiongson (ISEA) and Gustaff Iskandar (CRF), and to everyone who joined the conversation. Let’s keep building these ecosystems together!
